Merging provinces – a major policy for national development.

Việt NamViệt Nam15/04/2025

In accordance with Resolution No. 11 of the 13th Central Committee, the upcoming merger of provinces and cities will bring about certain changes. However, in reality, after many mergers and separations of provinces throughout history, officials and people of all ethnic groups in Ha Giang province have always been in agreement, all for the purpose of serving the overall development of the country.

Mr. Thanh believes that the merger is a major and correct policy, in line with the country's development situation.

These days, amidst news of the merger of Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces, Mr. Trieu Duc Thanh, a former official of Ha Tuyen province and former leader of Ha Giang province, is also feeling nostalgic. However, as someone who has witnessed previous mergers and separations of provinces, Mr. Thanh believes that the merger is a major and correct policy, in line with the country's development situation, as transportation and infrastructure have improved significantly. Therefore, Mr. Trieu Duc Thanh believes that officials and people of Ha Giang province will quickly integrate after the merger.

Mr. Trieu Duc Thanh – Former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Former Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang Province

Just like Mr. Trieu Duc Thanh, more than 30 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Hoang Ngoc Van and Hoang Thi Mui, former officials of the Department of War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ha Tuyen province, were assigned to work at the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ha Giang province. Recalling the time when the province was newly separated, working conditions were extremely difficult; it took them a whole day to travel to Ha Giang for their work. Now, with modern infrastructure, diverse resources, improved staff skills, and the development of information technology, every official can work with peace of mind.

Mr. and Mrs. Hoang Ngoc Van and Hoang Thi Mui were former officials of the Department of War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ha Tuyen province.

The merger of provinces is a major, correct, and appropriate policy in line with the development trends of the country and the localities. The implementation process will inevitably face difficulties and challenges, with initial reluctance to change. However, with the consensus and support of officials, Party members, and all sectors of the population, it will be the foundation for the country and each locality to take off in this era of national progress.
