According to data from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the situation of pests and diseases on Summer-Autumn and Autumn-Winter rice in 2025 has increased in infected areas, farmers need to proactively prevent and control them effectively.

Farmers need to proactively prevent and control pests and diseases that harm rice.

Specifically, in the 2025 Summer-Autumn rice crop, 2,467 hectares were infected with leaf blast disease, an increase of 1,718 hectares compared to the previous week, of which the infection rate of 5-10% was 2,017 hectares, the infection rate of 10-20% was 450 hectares, appearing mainly on rice at the tillering and panicle stages, concentrated in the districts of Tan Hung, Moc Hoa, Thanh Hoa, Duc Hoa, Duc Hue and Kien Tuong town.

In addition, other harmful organisms such as stem borers (240ha), brown planthoppers (154ha), golden apple snails (138ha), rats (118ha), thrips (40ha), etc. cause damage to rice fields at the seedling, tillering, and panicle stages, concentrated in the districts of Tan Hung, Moc Hoa, Duc Hue, Thanh Hoa, Duc Hoa, Tan Tru, Thu Thua and Tan An City.

In the 2025 Autumn-Winter rice crop, the infected area of ​​harmful organisms increased compared to last week, the most common being leaf blast disease (135ha) causing damage to tillering rice, concentrated in Tan Thanh district.

To date, farmers in Long An province have sown 215,063 hectares of the 2025 Summer-Autumn rice crop, reaching 99% of the plan, equal to 121% compared to the same period in 2024; harvested more than 28,000 hectares, the yield (dry) is estimated at 67.8 quintals/ha, the output is estimated at 191,000 tons. The 2025 Autumn-Winter rice crop was sown on nearly 27,000 hectares, mainly concentrated in Tan Thanh district.

To ensure a successful crop, based on recommendations from experts, farmers need to proactively take care of their fields and visit them regularly to promptly detect pests and diseases and take effective prevention and control measures./.
