If you're dreaming of heading to Augusta National to see golf legends compete at The Masters 2026, prepare your wallet a little deeper because ticket prices will increase from $140 to $160.
The price increase comes after the Masters organizers took a strong action against the black market, where tickets to the world's most prestigious golf tournament are often resold at many times higher prices.
During the 2025 Masters in April, hundreds of spectators were subjected to rigorous checks on the origin of their tickets. Many had their tickets canceled on the spot, simply because they had purchased them from a third party.
A strict notice from The Masters organizers reads: "Augusta National is the sole authorized entity to issue and sell tickets for The Masters. Any resale of tickets, in any form, is strictly prohibited. Those in possession of tickets from third parties may be denied entry."
Currently, the only way to get a ticket is to enter a random draw on the system, which many have likened to a “lottery.” Registration opened on June 1 and will close on June 20. Results will be announced at the end of July.
The Masters has long been known as the most scarce tournament in the world. Only about 40,000 spectators are allowed into the stadium each day, while millions of people register to buy tickets. Last year, ticket prices increased from $115 to $140, showing that the attraction of this event has never cooled down.
$160 to witness historic swings at Augusta? For many golfers, that’s still a bargain. But first, you have to be the lucky one to win a ticket.
Taking place annually in the first week of April at Augusta National (Georgia, USA), The Masters is one of the four most prestigious major tournaments in the world, along with the US Open, The Open and PGA Championship. Unlike the other three tournaments that change locations every year, The Masters is always associated with Augusta - the course considered the holy land of golfers.
The tournament was founded in 1934 by the legendary Bobby Jones and his partner Clifford Roberts. Each season, only about 90 to 100 golfers are allowed to participate – a modest number but clearly showing the selectivity and prestige. To be present here, they must be champions, the best golfers in the world or promising young talents.
