At the Huu Nghi border gate in Guangxi, a continuous stream of refrigerated container trucks carries popular durian varieties from Thailand and Vietnam. Since the beginning of May, the amount of durian imported through this border gate has exceeded 3,200 tons per day, accounting for one-third of China's total durian imports.

To preserve the freshness of this perishable fruit, the local customs agency has implemented a smart inspection system integrating geomagnetic sensors and a mobile application, automatically allocating parking spaces. Simultaneously, the "two-step declaration" model and priority green lanes have revolutionized time efficiency.

Mr. Luc Thinh Duc, a customs officer at Huu Nghi Border Gate, said: "The intelligent inspection support system has been launched at the border gate. By integrating geomagnetic sensors with a mobile application, inspection parking spaces are now automatically assigned throughout the entire process, increasing efficiency by 40%."

Thanks to these improvements, shipping time from Vietnam to China has been shortened from 5 days to 2 days.

"The daily import volume is around 50 containers, an increase of nearly 20% compared to last year. Durian can arrive in Guangzhou in just one day and in Beijing in two to three days," said Yu Weipeng, a customs officer in Guangxi.

Alongside road transport, the China-Laos Railway plays a crucial role as a core transportation corridor in Yunnan Province.

Thanks to the implementation of a pre-declaration policy, trains carrying durian from Thailand can reduce the average customs clearance time from 4-5 hours to just 2-4 hours. The railway industry has also added more trains and used larger capacity refrigerated containers.

"Up to now, durian imports have increased by more than 44% compared to the same period last year," said Li Zongzhi of the China Railway Freight Company.

Accelerated logistics, coupled with a sharp increase in durian production in Thailand this year, have caused durian prices in the Chinese market to fall by 10 to 20%. At the wholesale market in Nanning, traders recorded record sales, averaging around 2,000 durians sold per day.
