On June 6, Lam Dong province organized an exchange and workshop on cultural connection and tourism cooperation with Korean partners, preparing to bring Korean tourists to explore Lam Dong province after the merger.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, said that in 2024, the locality welcomed more than 10.3 million visitors, including about 600,000 international visitors. Of which, 380,000 were Korean visitors, accounting for 63.3% of total international visitors. This shows the special attraction and interest of Korean tourists in the poetic and culturally rich land of Da Lat - Lam Dong.
According to Mr. Hai, in the context of the new development orientation, the merger of the three provinces of Lam Dong, Dak Nong and Binh Thuan will create a seamless tourism space, with the unique advantage of "Mountains - Forests - Seas". The new Lam Dong province is expected to become a leading destination in the region, where tourists can seamlessly experience from cool plateaus, pristine nature to vibrant beaches.
Mr. Trinh Hai Linh, Chairman of the Vietnam - Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA) commented that after merging the administrative boundaries of the three provinces of Lam Dong - Dak Nong - Binh Thuan with the new province name of Lam Dong, this southern Central Highlands and Central Coast region is opening up a new development linkage area, rich in potential for tourism development; promoting cooperation in culture, high-tech agriculture, green industry, eco-tourism - resorts, and especially international connections, including Vietnam - Korea connections in this area.

Mr. Jung Dong-hyeok, a member of the Korean delegation from Gyeonggi Province, shared that in the past, Da Nang City was well-known in Gyeonggi Province, but now the interest in Lam Dong has increased significantly in recent times. Many businesses and organizations in tourism, investment, trade, culture, and human resources in Gyeonggi Province are very interested in Vietnam but are hesitant due to lack of information.
"Through this visit to Lam Dong, I have confirmed the potential in the fields of tourism and trade. When I return to Korea, I will widely promote the potential and information of Lam Dong, and will cooperate with Lam Dong," Mr. Jung Dong-hyeok emphasized.

The representative of Lam Dong Tourism Association emphasized that cooperation needs to be based on cultural respect, healthy competition and creating long-term value together. The Association appreciates initiatives and proposals from Korean businesses in jointly building tourism products connecting the two countries, with unique characteristics and enhancing the experience of tourists.
Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province believe that the cooperative relationship between Lam Dong province and Korean partners will continue to expand, becoming increasingly effective and sustainable. Through the workshop, there will be new solutions to promote Korean tourists to Lam Dong after the province's merger.
