After the reorganization, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City has reduced to 7 branches.

On the morning of September 16, the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DARD) of Ho Chi Minh City held a conference to announce decisions on personnel work, aiming to perfect the organizational structure and arrange personnel in a streamlined and effective direction.

Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Toan Thang presented the decision to appoint leaders of the departments and affiliated administrative organizations, including: Forestry Department; Irrigation Department; Fisheries and Fisheries Control Department; Rural Development Department; Cultivation and Plant Protection Department; Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department; Environmental Protection Department; Office of Coordination of the New Rural Development Program.

After the reorganization, the number of units under the Department was reduced from 17 branches and 3 administrative organizations to 7 branches and 1 administrative organization, a reduction of 12 branches and 2 administrative organizations (equivalent to a reduction of about 60%).

Assessing this as an important step in building a modern administration, Director Nguyen Toan Thang affirmed that the reorganization not only demonstrates the attention and close direction of the City Party Committee and People's Committee, but also the recognition and trust in the team of leaders and managers of the industry.

He emphasized that the appointed officials all have strong political will, good moral qualities, high professional qualifications and have been trained through practical work.
