The 2025 high school graduation exam will be conducted according to the new 2018 general education program . The Ministry of Education and Training has determined that this exam is of a very new scale and nature, and is one of the important tasks in the 2024-2025 school year.
“From the beginning of 2023, the Ministry's leadership has focused on directing the process with the principle of closely following the directives in Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW, Resolution No. 88/2014/QH13, and Resolution 144/NQ-CP. Accordingly, the organization of the 2025 high school graduation exam must ensure efficiency, reduce pressure, reduce costs, and ensure quality, objectively assess the quality of teaching and learning; and provide sufficiently reliable data for higher education institutions to conduct admissions,” - Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong informed about the preparation for the 2025 high school graduation exam on the afternoon of September 7th at the regular August Government press conference.
Based on that, the Ministry of Education and Training has actively prepared and focused on implementing the following four contents:
The plan for the high school graduation exam from 2025 onwards was announced on November 28, 2023, one and a half years earlier, creating favorable conditions for students and educational institutions;
To issue exam structure and format guidelines to facilitate teaching and learning for teachers and students;
Training sessions were organized for over 3,000 key teachers on methods and skills for designing and regularly evaluating high school graduation exam questions.
The Ministry has also issued guidelines for the school year and directives to the Departments of Education and Training to proactively prepare all necessary plans regarding facilities, human resources, professional development, and teaching and learning methods to focus on the 2025 high school graduation exam.
Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong stated that the Ministry of Education and Training will advise the Prime Minister to issue a Directive this September on strengthening leadership and coordination to organize the high school graduation exam for the 2025-2030 period.
The Ministry is also developing regulations for the 2025 high school graduation exam. After incorporating feedback, the regulations will be finalized and are expected to be issued in November 2024, three months earlier than previous regulations were issued.
The Ministry is developing and will publish sample exam questions to serve as a basis for students and teachers in their teaching and learning; and will continue to organize conferences, workshops, and training sessions on professional matters related to exam questions.
At the same time, the Ministry also directed the Departments of Education and Training to prepare well for tasks such as strengthening infrastructure and equipment; human resources and teacher training and professional development; regular teaching and learning; strengthening the general infrastructure of the Ministry as well as provinces and cities, especially the software for organizing exams.
"With such preparation, the Ministry of Education and Training has been proactive, effective, and has closely followed the guiding principles of the Resolutions as well as the practical situation," the Deputy Minister emphasized.
