Spread love

Over the past period, along with the city's attention through social welfare policies, many organizations, businesses, and philanthropists have joined hands to care for disadvantaged children through practical and meaningful activities. From scholarships and gifts to support for daily life to shelters for the needy, all contribute to alleviating difficulties and giving them more motivation to strive in life.

Recently, the Women's Union of Truong Tan commune visited, encouraged, and provided gifts to support an abandoned newborn baby currently being cared for and nurtured by the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Diu in Coi Ha village. Previously, on the evening of April 20, 2026, residents discovered a baby girl, approximately four months old, abandoned in front of Ms. Diu's house. After being examined by the commune's health station, the baby's health was stable, with no abnormalities detected.

Not wanting the child to be left abandoned, Mrs. Dịu's family took her in and cared for her with love and responsibility. During the visit, the leaders of the Women's Union of the commune and members of the Executive Committee kindly encouraged the family to continue caring for the child while waiting for the completion of legal procedures; they also presented many practical gifts to support the child's upbringing.

Recently, the Association for the Support of Disabled People and Orphans in Nhi Chieu Ward, in coordination with various units, businesses, and organizations, presented gifts to orphaned children in the ward. These gifts, handed directly to the children, not only provided material support but also served as a great source of encouragement. Tang Van Thanh (born in 2012), who has received support for a long time, emotionally shared: “I am very happy to receive this support. This is a great source of encouragement that helps me overcome difficulties, lessen the disadvantages of being an orphan, and strive for a better life.”

In the last days of May, many activities aimed at children were organized enthusiastically in preparation for International Children's Day on June 1st. In the "Children's Smile" program, the Thien Tam Charity Club plans to distribute 70 gifts to children with cerebral palsy, orphans, and children in particularly difficult circumstances in the city.

Each gift package, worth approximately 500,000 VND, includes milk, diapers, sweets, toys, and many essential items for daily life. A representative from the club shared that the gifts given on International Children's Day not only have material value but also convey encouragement and love for underprivileged children.

Comprehensive care

Not only charitable organizations, but also many businesses in the city actively participate in social welfare activities, supporting and caring for orphaned children, children with disabilities, and those in difficult circumstances.

Recently, System Fam Group Joint Stock Company (Nhi Chieu Ward) has regularly organized activities to donate gifts and provide material support to disadvantaged children and orphans in the city. Although the gifts are not of great monetary value, they demonstrate the social responsibility and sharing spirit of the enterprise with the community.

Ms. Do Minh Ngoc, a representative of the company, shared: “During our journey of supporting orphaned children, children with disabilities, and those in difficult circumstances, we were truly moved by the many unfortunate fates. Some children lack family affection and live in hardship, yet they remain resilient and strive to excel in their studies and lives. These circumstances make us feel even more responsible for sharing with the community.”

Currently, all people with disabilities in the area receive monthly social allowances according to Resolution No. 48 of the City People's Council and are issued health insurance cards for healthcare. At the same time, nearly 1,000 individuals are being cared for and nurtured in social welfare facilities throughout the city, including a significant number of disabled and orphaned children.

These are practical policies that contribute to helping disadvantaged children alleviate difficulties and stabilize their lives. Besides the support of businesses, all levels of government, sectors, and organizations in the city are also striving to mobilize various resources to care for disadvantaged people.

However, with the large number of children in difficult circumstances, the need for material, emotional, and educational support requires the collective efforts of the entire society. Mr. Tang Tien San, Chairman of the Association for the Protection of Disabled People and Orphaned Children in Hai Phong City, stated: “Besides providing material support, we hope to instill motivation and confidence in these children so they can overcome their inferiority complex, strive for academic excellence, and rise above their circumstances. Each gift, scholarship, or house donated not only represents immediate support but also demonstrates the community's care and sharing towards those less fortunate.”

Through numerous concrete and practical actions, organizations, associations, businesses, and philanthropists in the city are contributing to spreading the spirit of mutual support and compassion, working together to care for disadvantaged children. These humane gestures not only help the children have better conditions for learning and living but also instill confidence in them to overcome difficulties and look towards a better future.
