This year, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry team was missing their top scorer, Le Nguyen Truong Nhan, but still had Nguyen Le Anh Minh, Pham Van Tinh, Nguyen Quoc Viet, and especially goalkeeper Le Minh Chien. Minh Chien played reliably in goal and made excellent penalty saves. In the two victories against Hue University (winners of the 2023 Student Cup) in the quarterfinals and Thuy Loi University (runners-up in the 2023 Student Cup) in the semi-finals, both won by penalty shootouts, goalkeeper Le Minh Chien played the hero for the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry team.

However, coach Phan Hoang Vu maintained a cautious attitude as the team entered the 2nd TNSV tournament in 2024. The head coach of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry team affirmed: "The three upcoming qualifying matches at Ton Duc Thang University will not be easy. Our past achievements create significant pressure, and dwelling on the past could easily lead to defeat. Therefore, we must be extremely focused and wary of all three opponents. The goal of the University of Agriculture and Forestry team is to finish first and secure a place in the play-offs."

On the other hand, the University of Science team is a newcomer and considered an "unknown quantity" in the tournament. This team previously won third place in the SV Cup organized by team owners in 2020, but has rarely participated in 11-a-side tournaments in the past three years. Therefore, in this return, the University of Science team also wants to leave its mark.

The team from the University of Science is expected to spring a surprise.

Recently, the University of Science team played a training match and narrowly lost to the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education team 3-4. It's clear that the University of Science team will be a significant challenge to the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry team's goal of securing three points. Perhaps, on a good day, the University of Science team could pull off a surprise against Coach Phan Hoang Vu's squad.
