Traveling on the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.
According to the planned schedule, before the April 30th - May 1st holiday, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project will put into operation sections 2 and 3, with a total length of over 37km, from the Long Thanh interchange ( Dong Nai ) to the National Highway 56 interchange in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Ba Ria area). The entire expressway is approximately 54km long.
However, in the initial phase, authorities agreed to only allow cars with fewer than 9 seats to circulate. This was due to the incomplete completion of component project 1, the ongoing expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway, and the lack of synchronization between the intelligent transportation system (ITS) and connecting routes.

The temporary traffic route is specifically instructed as follows: From Bien Hoa to Vung Tau, travel on National Highway (NH) 51 to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway interchange, then go under the overpass, turn around and return to NH 51 towards Bien Hoa, then go another 50m and turn right onto Bung Mon road, then go straight for nearly 1km along the parallel road to the right of the Bung Mon overpass to join the expressway.
From Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau, take the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway, then turn right off the expressway at the National Highway 51 interchange, then follow the roundabout to return to National Highway 51 towards Bien Hoa. After that, merge onto Bung Mon Road following the same route as above.
To travel from Dau Giay to Vung Tau, you need to enter the Long Thanh interchange and then turn onto the outermost right-hand branch to exit onto the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.
From Vung Tau to Bien Hoa, people need to travel on the expressway and then turn left onto Bung Mon road to reach National Highway 51. After that, continue on National Highway 51 to Bien Hoa or merge onto the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.
Currently, Project Management Board 85 has completed its report to the State Inspection Council on acceptance testing and is coordinating with the Departments and Road Management Zones to conduct on-site inspections to finalize the operational plan.
44km Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway
Regarding the North-South axis, the State Inspection Council has just unanimously approved the conditional completion acceptance for the section from Km34+315 to Km78+530 (over 44km long) of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway project to be put into operation. This approval temporarily excludes the Duc Pho interchange, the toll collection system, and ITS.
By the end of April, four component projects across Central Vietnam, including Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh, and Chi Thanh - Van Phong, will also be simultaneously put into operation.

Regarding supporting infrastructure, Ms. Phan Thi Thu Hien, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Road Administration, said that there are currently 21 rest stops on the North-South expressway under investment, of which 16 have already put essential facilities into operation. It is expected that one more rest stop will be operational by April 30th, bringing the total number of rest stops from Hanoi to Ca Mau to 23.
"With an average distance of about 100km between stations, it basically meets the needs of the people," Ms. Hien stated, adding that the goal is to complete the entire system of rest stops this year. In addition, the Ministry of Construction is closely monitoring quality control and thoroughly assessing the causes of expansion joint failures and bridge abutment subsidence in some projects to find comprehensive solutions.
