The advantage for SHB Da Nang

Before round 24, the relegation battle was considered a "two-way" fight between SHB Da Nang and PVF-CAND. However, surprises occurred, making the situation at the bottom of the table very tense in the last two rounds of this season. Besides SHB Da Nang and PVF-CAND, three other teams – Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, and Dong A Thanh Hoa – also have the potential to be relegated. Even though they are ranked higher than SHB Da Nang, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City and Hoang Anh Gia Lai are at a higher risk of being relegated.

After a strong performance against Hai Phong at their home stadium, Chi Lang, SHB Da Nang won 2-0 and now have 20 points, 2 points more than PVF-CAND. In Round 24, PVF-CAND only managed 1 point with a 1-1 draw against The Cong Viettel. Meanwhile, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City lost 0-1 to Song Lam Nghe An and are now only 1 point ahead of SHB Da Nang. Hoang Anh Gia Lai drew 1-1 with Dong A Thanh Hoa, ranking 11th with 23 points.

The current situation makes the last two rounds feel like finals of the season, where a small mistake could be costly. SHB Da Nang will face Hong Linh Ha Tinh (away) and Dong A Thanh Hoa (home) in rounds 25 and 26 respectively. These shouldn't be overly difficult challenges, as the two opponents are of similar caliber. Winning these two matches would give Coach Le Duc Tuan's team a chance to climb to 12th place and secure direct relegation survival. This is also what Da Nang football fans are hoping for.

At the bottom of the table, PVF-CAND will face Hai Phong at home and Song Lam Nghe An away. These aren't particularly difficult opponents for PVF-CAND, but the important thing is that their fate is no longer in their own hands. In the top group, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City is predicted to face a major challenge, as they will clash with Hanoi Police (away) and Hoang Anh Gia Lai (home). Hanoi Police has already officially won the championship, and the match against Becamex Ho Chi Minh City is where they will be presented with the trophy. The police team aims for a victory on their coronation day to complete their celebration.

Meanwhile, the final match against Hoang Anh Gia Lai is where Becamex Ho Chi Minh City must battle it out against their direct competitor. Before playing this "relegation battle" against Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, Hoang Anh Gia Lai will host Hanoi FC, their competitor for second place, at home.

Trying to avoid direct relegation

The 2-0 victory of SHB Da Nang against Hai Phong was a turning point in the season. This was a well-deserved result for the tireless efforts of coach Le Duc Tuan and his team. SHB Da Nang considered the last three rounds as "finals" of the season, including the match against Hai Phong. The coaching staff fielded their strongest lineup. Numerous opportunities were created, and Makaric scored twice, igniting the Chi Lang stadium with excitement.

Not only did they secure three crucial points, but the victory against Hai Phong also boosted SHB Da Nang's confidence in the final stretch of the season. Coach Le Duc Tuan's team has now gone three matches unbeaten, including two wins at home. Positive signs also emerged in their playing style, with the team playing tightly and creating diverse attacking opportunities. The brightest spot in the attack belongs to Makaric, with 7 goals in 5 consecutive matches.

The return of Lopez and Ribamar from injury has strengthened SHB Da Nang. Lopez, in particular, played aggressively and creatively in midfield, creating many good opportunities for the forwards in the match against Hai Phong. His excellent long-range shooting ability also offers attacking options for SHB Da Nang in the two crucial rounds.

Coach Le Duc Tuan shared: “I am pleased with my players' performance in the match against Hai Phong. Before the match, the coaching staff instructed them to focus on attacking, making the most of every opportunity to score, and the players did just that. Today's victory is very significant, giving the team more motivation to fight for survival. We will try our best to secure direct relegation survival in the last two rounds.”
