This is the second day of the UAV trial being conducted by the Hanoi City Police from June 1st to August 30th, 2026, to assess the application of high technology in the command, control, patrol, and surveillance work of the Hanoi Police force.
According to the plan, after testing in key areas of Hoan Kiem and Tay Ho wards on the first day of deployment, the working teams will continue to operate the UAVs in the area around West Lake. This area has a large space, many lakeside roads, and a high volume of people and vehicles, posing high demands in ensuring security, order, urban order, and traffic safety.

At the scene, the UAV underwent a thorough technical inspection before embarking on its flight path. From an aerial perspective, the UAV captured panoramic images of the water surface area, the lakeside road, and areas with high traffic density, thereby assisting authorities in expanding the monitoring range and detecting emerging situations early.
A notable aspect of the testing process is that images and data recorded by the UAV are connected to the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center and simultaneously transmitted to officers on duty in the area via mobile devices. This method helps shorten the time to receive information and enhances coordination between Tay Ho Ward Police, traffic police, and other relevant units in handling situations at the scene.

Based on UAV footage, authorities discovered a truck parked near West Lake, posing a potential traffic obstruction risk. Upon receiving the information, a task force arrived at the scene to inspect the vehicle, educate drivers, and remind them to strictly adhere to traffic safety regulations, thereby preventing congestion on the lakeside road.
Adding technological tools for smart city management.
One of the key aspects of the trial was the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) researched and manufactured by domestic companies.

The UAV systems of MiSmart Joint Stock Company and Gtel Robot Joint Stock Company are being tested, helping authorities assess their technological capabilities, equipment stability, and suitability for practical security and order maintenance requirements.

The UAV testing in Tay Ho ward demonstrates the effective support capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles in remote patrolling and monitoring, especially in large areas with high traffic volume or those requiring high levels of urban order management. This is also a concrete step in the roadmap for applying science and technology and digital transformation to ensure security and order, serving the construction of a smart and safe Hanoi.

According to the Hanoi City Police, the testing process is an important basis for comprehensively evaluating technical indicators, operational capabilities, data transmission, and the mechanism for coordinating information processing between forces.
It is expected that in September 2026, the Hanoi City Police will complete the report on the results and submit it to the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, moving towards officially researching and deploying this high-tech solution in combat operations to effectively serve the work of ensuring security and order in the capital city.
