Lam Son commune plans to reorganize from 16 villages down to 8 villages.

On the afternoon of June 2nd, the Party Committee of Lam Son commune held a conference to implement Government Decree No. 185/2026/ND-CP dated May 26, 2026, which regulates the organization and operation of villages and residential areas, and the regime and policies for part-time officials in villages and residential areas.

At the conference, delegates were briefed on the key contents of the decree, focusing on the reorganization of villages; the regime and policies for part-time officials; the standards for village positions; and the implementation process for reorganization according to the new regulations. At the same time, the commune leaders informed about the proposed plan to reduce the current 16 villages to 8 to ensure suitability with population size, number of households, and the requirement for a streamlined local administrative apparatus.

Specifically, after the reorganization, the entire commune has 6,175 households with 24,374 inhabitants; each village will have a maximum of 3 non-professional personnel, including: Party Branch Secretary, Village Head, and Head of the Fatherland Front Committee. The villages of Lam Hoa and Lam Binh will merge into Lam Binh village; Lam Phu and Lam Quy into Lam Phu village; Gon 1 and Gon 2 into Gon village; Tam Ngan 1 and Tam Ngan 2 into Tam Ngan village; Tan Binh, Tra Giang 1, and Tra Giang 4 into Tra Giang 1 village; Tan Lap 1 and Tan Lap 2 into Tan Lap village; Tra Giang 2 and Tra Giang 3 into Tra Giang village; while Lap La village will remain unchanged.

At the conference, delegates' opinions and discussions regarding regulations, policies, personnel work, and implementation procedures were addressed and guided specifically by the commune leaders and specialized agencies. The commune Party Committee requested that Party branches, the Fatherland Front working committee, and related organizations strengthen propaganda efforts to create consensus among the people; and proactively review and prepare the necessary conditions to ensure that the village reorganization is carried out in accordance with regulations, guaranteeing the stability of the political system at the grassroots level after the reorganization.

The implementation of Decree No. 185 is expected to contribute to the streamlining of the organizational structure at the grassroots level, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the political system and the quality of service to the people in the commune.
