The Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health has sent a document to many affiliated units, communes, wards, and special zones in the province requesting them to strengthen measures to ensure food safety and prevent food poisoning, especially during the New Year and Lunar New Year holidays in 2026.
Accordingly, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Department, in coordination with relevant units and localities, will organize inspection and monitoring teams to ensure food safety at food establishments under its management that provide catering services for events, especially during the New Year and Lunar New Year holidays.
At the same time, guide establishments to properly implement conditions regarding hygiene, origin of ingredients, and storage time for cooked food. Guide people on how to choose and use safe food, prevent food poisoning, and focus on disseminating messages about ensuring food safety during the New Year and Lunar New Year holidays.

People should choose fresh, high-quality food to ensure safety.
Ninh Thuan General Hospital and Khanh Hoa General Hospital are responsible for monitoring, detecting, and treating suspected cases of food poisoning. Upon suspecting or detecting a food poisoning incident, they must immediately notify the Khanh Hoa Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Department and the Department of Health for investigation and handling in accordance with regulations.
Prepare contingency plans, resources, equipment, tools, and necessary medications to provide timely emergency care and treatment for people suffering from food poisoning, especially in cases involving large numbers of people.
Regional health centers in Khanh Hoa province, in coordination with relevant units, are disseminating information and advising people on food safety; paying attention to foods that are consumed in large quantities during Tet such as cakes, candies, and soft drinks without labels or origin information; and types of sandwiches with cold cuts, pate sandwiches, and pastries that are not properly stored and are easily spoiled…

The Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health also requested that communes, wards, and special zones in the area regularly broadcast messages on public address systems about ensuring food safety; advising people to absolutely not use spoiled, moldy, or strangely smelling food, or food of unknown origin or suspected of containing natural toxins such as poisonous mushrooms, wild fruits, pufferfish, and toad meat.
