HSU students explore the sports industry ecosystem through practical internship experiences.
Recently, under the guidance of Dr. Phan Danh Na, students from HSU's Sports Economics program participated in a field trip to various businesses and professional sports organizations. The journey provided students with a multifaceted perspective on how sports are operated as a modern economic sector, combining management, services, communication, commerce, and customer experience.
Adopting a modern golf course business model.
The group's first stop was Sonadezi Chau Duc Golf Course. Here, students learned about the operational model of a professional golf course – a rapidly developing sector in Vietnam, closely linked to high-end services, tourism , and customer experience.

Through the field trip and practical exchange, students have the opportunity to observe the service management process, the organization and operation of golf course systems, customer care strategies, and methods for exploiting commercial value in the sports sector. The knowledge learned in the classroom becomes more visual and engaging when placed in a real-world operational context.
Understanding how a professional football club operates
Continuing their journey, HSU students visited the Ho Chi Minh City Football Club at Ba Ria Stadium. There, they learned about the management and operation model of a professional football club, from personnel organization and team management to media activities and brand building.

Through practical insights from professional organizations, students gain a better understanding of the "behind-the-scenes picture"—where sports are not just about competition but also about management, communication, business, and community engagement.

In particular, attending the match between Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club and Ho Chi Minh City Club provided students with the opportunity to directly observe how a sporting event is organized and operated in practice. From coordination and audience experience to media activities and the atmosphere in the stands, everything became a "living textbook" helping students gain a deeper understanding of the modern sports industry.
Learn from real-world experience to prepare for your future career.
Beyond just acquiring professional knowledge, the internship also helps students develop professional thinking, observation skills, and the ability to connect academic knowledge with the practical needs of the labor market.

At HSU, students majoring in Sports Economics not only learn about sports in the classroom but also directly experience the operational environment of the industry through practical activities, internships, and expert networking. This is a crucial foundation for students to develop management skills, adaptability, and readiness to enter the professional sports environment in the future.
