According to the Department of Business Registration Management, Ministry of Planning and Investment, in April 2023, nearly 16,000 newly established enterprises nationwide with registered capital of VND 154,600 billion, an increase of 12.3% in the number of enterprises and 6.2% in registered capital compared to March 2023. Compared to the same period last year, the number of enterprises increased by 6.4% and the registered capital decreased by 5.7%. In addition, the country also had 9,610 enterprises returning to operation in April, an increase of 52.9% compared to the previous month and an increase of 36.6% compared to the same period in 2022.
In the first 4 months of 2023, the whole country had 49,900 newly registered enterprises, with a total registered capital of nearly 465,000 billion VND, an increase of 0.6% in the number of enterprises, a decrease of 26.8% in registered capital compared to the same period last year. By economic sector, there were 501 newly established enterprises in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, a decrease of 29.5% over the same period last year; 11,900 enterprises in the industry and construction sector, a decrease of 6.5%; nearly 37,400 enterprises in the service sector, an increase of 3.7%. In addition, nearly 29,000 enterprises returned to operation, bringing the total number of newly established enterprises and enterprises returning to operation in the first 4 months of the year to 78,900 enterprises, a decrease of 2% over the same period last year. On average, 19,700 businesses are newly established and resume operations each month.
In the first 4 months of 2023, the number of enterprises temporarily suspending business for a period of time was 49,900, an increase of 21.8% over the same period last year; 20,900 enterprises suspended operations pending dissolution procedures, an increase of 39.9%; 6,100 enterprises completed dissolution procedures, an increase of 10.1%.
