Technology that "touches" emotions
A groundbreaking highlight in the province's tourism digital transformation strategy is the operation of the "Digital Tourism Map" system on both Android and iOS operating systems. This is not just a simple navigation tool, but is considered a "heart" connecting the entire tourism data infrastructure of the province.
Through the app, tourists can experience destinations using vivid VR360 virtual reality technology. With just a few taps to zoom in, zoom out, or rotate the screen, the entire beauty of dozens of tourist destinations is clearly displayed, allowing users to "explore" the destination before arriving. In particular, the appearance of AI virtual assistants and an automatic commentary system has completely solved the problem of the shortage of tour guides in remote locations, providing a personalized experience for each tourist.
The digital map not only displays tourist attractions but also provides comprehensive information about historical sites, museums, accommodations, restaurants, transportation providers, and shopping and dining establishments that meet the standards for serving tourists in the province, all with just a few taps on your phone.
Ms. Hoang Thi Nhung, a tourist from Hue City, shared: "During the April 30th holiday, I traveled to Dak Lak with my friends. Before arriving, I researched attractions and restaurants through the Digital Tourism Map application, such as the World Coffee Museum, Dray Nu Waterfall, and Buon Don Suspension Bridge Tourism Center... We could preview the scenery to choose suitable places to visit. Moreover, after arriving, we could both admire the scenery directly and easily look up history and culture through the application right there. Every journey was recorded, creating a pleasant feeling."
In fact, tourism in Dak Lak is clearly demonstrating that technology does not diminish traditional values. On the contrary, when technology is applied subtly to serve people's needs for research, transportation, and experiences, it becomes a powerful catalyst that elevates the emotions of tourists.

When the community is the subject
If technology is the "extended arm" that brings the image of Dak Lak to the world, then the community is the "root" for attracting tourists. The current trend in tourism is that visitors not only come to see but also to experience and live with the local people. Eating and sleeping in longhouses, working in the fields together, and cooking traditional dishes helps tourists gain a deeper understanding of cultural values, while also providing a direct source of income for households.
In Tong Ju village (Ea Kao ward), many families are boldly developing community tourism. Visitors can experience living in longhouses, wearing traditional Ede ethnic costumes, weaving cloth themselves, brewing rice wine, or working in the fields with the locals, roasting coffee, and then enjoying typical local dishes such as bitter gourd soup, pounded cassava leaves, beef stew, grilled chicken with bamboo rice, etc.
Ms. H'Yam Bkrong, the initiator of the community tourism model in Tong Ju village, boldly invested in building a community tourism area in the village covering 3,100 square meters. The area features stilt houses displaying brocade products, musical instruments, tools for labor and production, weaving tools, and hunting equipment of the Ede people. To attract tourists, she organizes activities such as wood carving, brewing rice wine, and performances of gong music and traditional dances. To encourage tourists to experience the culture of the Ede people, Ms. H'Yam mobilized villagers to participate in tourism. Each household implements a model of livestock farming or production to welcome visitors and allow them to enjoy the local culture. As a result, community tourism in Tong Ju village has become attractive, connecting many tourists with the community.
Not only in Tong Ju village, the community-based tourism model has been implemented and proven effective in Ako Dhong village (Buon Ma Thuot ward), Tri village (Buon Don commune), Yang Tao pottery village (Lien Son Lak commune)...
