This is a program organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in coordination with a number of units to promote, disseminate knowledge, and raise awareness among the community, especially the younger generation, about the work of preventing, combating, and adapting to natural disasters.

Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Director of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment); representatives UNICEF Vietnam; leaders of Lao Cai Department of Agriculture and Environment; representatives of Bao Thang District Departmentof Education and Training, along with many teachers and students in the area.
The highlight of the series of activities was the creative mural painting competition with the theme "Natural disasters and children" done by the students themselves. The paintings were not only colorful but also conveyed the message of preparedness, environmental protection awareness and disaster response skills, demonstrating understanding of climate change.

At the program, the “Ring the Golden Bell” Contest was also held in an exciting atmosphere with the participation of 100 students from 3 schools: Son Ha Commune Secondary School, Pho Lu Town Secondary School and Bao Thang District Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities. The contestants went through many questions related to knowledge of natural disaster prevention and control, survival skills, environmental protection, etc. Through each round, the students not only demonstrated their deep understanding but also spread the spirit of proactive learning, creativity and responsibility to the community.

The extracurricular program is a useful and interesting playground and a practical action to build a safe community that can effectively adapt to natural disasters; realize the goal of building a sustainable society, putting people, especially children, at the center of all disaster response strategies.
