Arsenal were missing a number of key players for their away match against Tottenham. Therefore, Arteta's team opted for a defensive, counter-attacking strategy.
Arsenal's tactics were clear: thorough defense, avoiding defensive errors, and when in possession, launching quick counter-attacks, especially on the flanks with the agility of Martinelli and Saka.

Tottenham's play lacked sharpness, resulting in them controlling possession for 67% of the first half but only managing 5 shots, with just 1 on target. Arsenal, on the other hand, only held possession for 33% of the time but had 6 shots, with 50% of those shots on target against goalkeeper Vicario. Despite this, neither side managed to create a breakthrough.
After a goalless first half, Tottenham increased the pace of their attack in the second half. However, the home team couldn't maintain the pressure for long, as Arsenal gradually countered with their own attacks, causing Tottenham's offensive power to diminish.

Gabriel celebrates after scoring a goal for Arsenal.
In the 64th minute, the Tottenham defense made a serious mistake by leaving Gabriel unmarked during a corner kick, allowing the Brazilian defender to comfortably head the ball in from 4 meters out to open the scoring. With the lead secured, Arsenal adopted a possession-based style of play to try and contain Tottenham.
Forced to attack in search of an equalizer, Tottenham tried to fight back but were ineffective despite manager Postecoglou making three substitutions. Unable to score, Tottenham suffered their second consecutive defeat of the season.
