To achieve these major goals, Son La province has so far recognized 9 high-tech agricultural zones with key products such as tea, dairy cows, coffee, custard apples, mangoes, longans and plums. In addition, the province has also promoted branding for 3-5 star OCOP products, bringing the total number of provincial and national OCOP products to 241.

By 2025, Son La aims to expand the area of crops applying VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards to 13,179 hectares. Currently, the province has 5,596 hectares of crops meeting these certifications, with 218 growing area codes issued on an area of over 3,142 hectares. The province has also developed 308 food safety supply chains, with 29 products protected by intellectual property rights.

In the period 2021-2025, the province's agricultural sector recorded an average growth rate of 4.8%/year, with a harvest value of 85 million VND/ha - an increase of 67.3% compared to 2020. High-tech agricultural production models such as growing plums, early-ripening longans, custard apples, safe vegetables, etc. help farmers earn hundreds of millions to billions of VND/ha/year.

The People's Committee of Son La province has been implementing a series of solutions to increase the value of agricultural products. The focus is on strictly managing growing area codes, supporting cooperatives and farmers to apply production processes that meet VietGAP, GlobalGAP and organic standards. The province also focuses on promoting research, application and transfer of high technology and environmentally friendly biotechnology in production and processing.

Production planning is also reviewed and adjusted to prioritize crops with high economic value and competitive advantages. At the same time, concentrated production areas applying high technology will be developed, combining organic agricultural production with eco-tourism development. For crops that are not yet eligible for high technology, the province will focus on supporting stable production chain linkages with export enterprises and processing factories.
