Vietnamese start-ups unveil many new AI applications.

Many Vietnamese startups have integrated AI into their core products to address familiar market bottlenecks, showcasing them to investors at Demo Day 2025.

On December 19th, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Demo Day 2025 investment networking event took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (SIHUB), bringing together promising Vietnamese startups, investors, and experts in the startup ecosystem.

The program is organized by the Institute for Innovation (UII) in collaboration with the School of Technology and Design, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), and other partners.

Diverse problems, but the common thread is the use of AI.

At the event, startups presented numerous solutions to specific market problems, ranging from e-commerce, marketing, education , and sports to consumer goods, aiming to attract investor interest. Despite operating in different fields, a common thread was the widespread application of AI by these startups to solve existing problems.

According to Mr. Vo Quoc Thinh , a representative from Ecombox, this start-up develops a solution to make the packaging process transparent and optimized for online sellers. The system automatically records packaging videos , stores them on a cloud platform, and uses AI to detect in real time any missing or excess products in orders.

"Video evidence helps sellers proactively handle disputes, reduce return rates , and protect their stores from unfair claims," ​​Mr. Thinh said.

In the marketing field, startup Hololab introduces solutions that combine 3D and AI technology to enhance the advertising experience, overcoming the limitations of traditional 2D advertising which lacks interactivity and personalization.

In the education sector, many startups are focusing on applying AI to bridge the gap between training and real-world learning needs, where AI is used to "tailor" personalized learning paths that suit each learner's career and goals.

In the field of sports, Mr. Vo Hung Vuong, representative of Onto, said that this start-up is building a smart sports platform connecting players, venues, coaches, and tournament organizers.

"The platform provides a flexible booking system with AI-powered pricing mechanisms and operational automation tools, thereby helping to reduce costs and expand revenue for sports venues," Mr. Vuong said.

Vietnamese startups enter a new acceleration cycle with AI.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the sidelines of the event, Mr. Le Nguyen, investment manager at Taiwania Hive, highly appreciated the quality of ideas from Vietnamese startups, and also stated that the startup ecosystem is facing a new acceleration cycle, closely linked to the wave of artificial intelligence and digital technology.

In this context, AI is no longer seen as a standalone field, but is playing the role of a "catalyst," amplifying value for traditional industries as well as digital business models.

However, he emphasized that the application of AI should not be merely a formality. Simply incorporating AI doesn't automatically mean a product will be better. "The key factor lies in AI helping to solve problems faster, more efficiently, and more cheaply than traditional methods," said Mr. Le Nguyen.

Mr. Le Nguyen predicts that the trend of AI application will continue until around 2040, in industrial, financial, and data-related sectors.

From an ecosystem perspective, representatives from the UEH Institute of Innovation stated that DEMO Day was organized to create a space for deeper connection between the UEH startup community and the innovation ecosystem, supporting startups in perfecting their products and expanding their markets.
