Energize those in need
Living alone in an old, dilapidated house for many years, Ms. Dinh Thi Minh (born in 1957, in residential group 2, Dong Son ward), who worships her uncle, martyr Dinh Van Bieu, who sacrificed his life in the resistance war against French colonialism, always wishes to have a solid house to live the rest of her life and have a place to properly worship the martyr.
In early May 2025, Ms. Minh's dream came true when the Quang Binh Door Association (Vietnam Door Association) connected, mobilized, and called on benefactors and sponsors to support funding to build a house of gratitude for her, together with her family and children. The house has an area of 50 square meters, is solidly built, covered with heat-resistant foam corrugated iron, tiled floors... with a total value of over 170 million VND.
“From now on, I have a warm, sturdy house to worship and no longer worry when the rainy season comes. I thank the Quang Binh Door Association, local authorities, mass organizations and neighbors for caring for policy families like me,” Ms. Minh emotionally shared.
Chairman of Quang Binh Door Association Hoang Dinh Sang said: “In addition to production and business activities, the enterprise has promoted the spirit of responsibility and sharing with the disadvantaged and unfortunate in society. The completed and put into use house of gratitude not only shows gratitude and the morality of “When drinking water, remember its source”, but also contributes to further spreading the message of compassion, understanding, and sharing so that “no one is left behind”.
In Xom Dum, Sen Ngu commune, Quang Tri province, three sisters Le Thi Truc Linh (12 years old), Le Thi Uyen Phuong (10 years old) and Le Huu Dang (4 years old) seem to have gotten used to their mother being away from home every day. Since their father passed away due to a serious illness, their mother has had to work hard to earn extra income to cover their living expenses. Huynh Thi Phuoc, the mother of the children, confided: "In 2024, my husband passed away due to a serious illness, and the life of the four of us has been very difficult and deprived. I myself do not have a stable job, but looking at my young children, I always try to overcome difficulties and losses to raise them."
Sharing the situation of Ms. Phuoc and her children, Quang Tri Newspaper, Radio and Television connected with Huda Beer Brand to visit and give support to the family, and at the same time called for more help from kind-hearted people. “Seeing my mother working hard, I always try to study well and help my mother with daily chores. From grade 1 to grade 6, I always achieved the title of excellent student. Now receiving the support money, my sisters and I will have more expenses to prepare for the new school year 2025-2026, I am very grateful to you, uncles and aunts...”, Truc Linh shared.
These are just two of many humanitarian addresses in the province that have been connected and helped through the campaign "Each organization and individual is associated with a humanitarian address". The joy and emotion of Ms. Minh, Ms. Phuoc and her children are also the common feelings of many people in difficult circumstances when receiving timely and practical support from philanthropists. It is the love, sympathy and sharing of the community that has helped them have more strength and confidence to rise up in life.
“Based on the heart, understanding and deep sympathy, some localities in the province have innovated their working methods and mobilized creatively and effectively to attract more and more agencies, businesses and individuals to participate in supporting humanitarian addresses, thereby contributing to the effective implementation of poverty reduction and ensuring social security in the locality,” Ms. Mai Thi Kim Nhung emphasized. |
When love is spread
The campaign “Each organization and individual is associated with a humanitarian address” was launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society to help families in especially difficult circumstances with specific, practical and regular actions. These addresses are mostly victims of Agent Orange, lonely elderly people with no place to rely on, orphans, people with disabilities, poor students who overcome difficulties to study well... from poor and near-poor households.

According to the President of the Red Cross Association of Quang Tri Province, Mai Thi Kim Nhung, based on the criteria of humanitarian addresses, the association has directed the association's branches to review, survey, and establish profiles of subjects in especially difficult circumstances who need assistance. After that, the association's branches proactively classify humanitarian addresses according to the need for support to call on organizations and individuals to participate in helping. This approach creates a sustainable connection between organizations, individuals, philanthropists and humanitarian addresses, serving as a support for vulnerable subjects in society to rise up, gradually escape poverty, and stabilize their lives.
From specific and transparent information from humanitarian addresses, many individuals and organizations have supported the subjects in many forms such as: Giving gifts; supporting money, building and repairing houses; granting scholarships; supporting livelihoods; donating wheelchairs, bicycles...
Not only providing material assistance, Red Cross volunteers also help humanitarian addresses with practical actions, suitable to the conditions and circumstances of each address such as: Participating in supporting working days during the house construction process; haircuts, shampooing, health check-ups for lonely elderly people with no place to rely on when they are sick... From the beginning of 2025 to now, the Red Cross Association of Quang Tri province at all levels has mobilized and received support for 449 humanitarian addresses with a total value of over 3.75 billion VND.
It can be affirmed that, through the effective implementation of the Campaign "Each organization and individual is associated with a humanitarian address", the Red Cross Associations at all levels in the province have demonstrated their role as a bridge and coordinator in humanitarian activities. Thereby, effectively mobilizing resources to support humanitarian addresses in the area, at the same time contributing to spreading the purpose and humanitarian meaning of the campaign, enhancing the spirit of sharing and solidarity in the community.
