Investing ineducation
In recent years, Quang Nam province (formerly), now Da Nang city, has made significant progress in implementing the New Rural Program, especially in the field of education.
As a new development center, the province has continuously invested in educational infrastructure to meet the increasing learning needs of students, especially in mountainous areas.
This transformation not only brings changes in facilities but also creates new opportunities for students, helping them access better quality education.
One of the clear evidences of this change is Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School (Tra Giap, Da Nang ). With an investment capital from the State of about 5 billion VND, the school has built 6 more modern functional rooms, such as computer room, English room, library... In the 2024-2025 school year, the functional rooms were accepted to serve the learning of students according to the 2018 General Education Program.

Mr. Nguyen Bao Tu - Principal of the school said that the school has 331 students, of which 215 are ethnic minority students such as Ca Dong, Cor, Muong... "These classrooms not only meet the learning needs but also create a friendly learning environment, encouraging creativity and comprehensive development for students. The functional rooms are fully equipped with modern learning equipment, from projectors, interactive boards to rich learning materials, helping students to access knowledge in a more vivid and effective way", Mr. Tu shared.
In addition, Nguyen Binh Khiem Ethnic Boarding Secondary School (Tra Doc, Da Nang) also received strong investment from the National Target Program. In 2024, the school will invest in building a new block of classrooms and a block of boarding houses with an investment capital of about 10 billion VND.
Along with that, a spacious football field worth about 1 billion VND was built, creating favorable conditions for students not only to study but also to participate in physical activities and exercise.

Principal Vu Hoang Tam said: “The school built 8 new classrooms and 26 semi-boarding rooms to meet the learning and accommodation needs of 720 students. The majority of students here are ethnic minorities, so investing in building schools and classrooms not only helps them have a better place to study but also contributes to improving the quality of education in the locality. The football field and playgrounds are reasonably designed, creating space for students to interact, learn and develop social skills.”
Continue to implement national target programs
The New Rural Program and National Target Programs not only bring about changes in infrastructure but also help improve the quality of education, creating more opportunities for students.
Thanks to appropriate support policies and investments, students in mountainous areas now have access to better quality education, thereby improving their learning and personal development. They not only learn knowledge but also practice life skills, teamwork skills and critical thinking skills.
In addition to investing in infrastructure, the New Rural Program also focuses on improving the quality of teachers. Teachers are provided with training and professional development courses, helping them update their knowledge and modern teaching methods. This not only helps teachers become more confident in their teaching but also creates a positive learning environment for students.

At the conference to review the implementation of national target programs and emulation movements held on the morning of June 26, according to the report summarizing the implementation of national target programs in Quang Nam province (old) for the period 2021-2025, in the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction, 100% of poor districts are supported to invest in developing regional socio-economic infrastructure, serving people's lives, production, trade, circulation of goods and providing basic social services with more than 160 projects invested from the program's capital.
Up to now, the socio-economic infrastructure system in poor and mountainous districts has changed significantly, and the transportation system has been gradually formed.
In particular, educational and medical facilities have been gradually solidified; irrigation and clean water works have been invested synchronously in remote areas..., contributing to solving urgent and long-term problems in the task of socio-economic development, improving the material and spiritual life of the people in the area, creating conditions for people, especially ethnic minority areas, to conveniently access basic social services. Achieved the set plan targets.

Also at this conference, Mr. Le Van Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province (old) said that, in response to new requirements in the context of implementing the two-level local government model, the Central Government is reviewing and restructuring national target programs to better suit the new organizational model. However, the consistent viewpoint is to not change the strategic goal: Building modern countryside, ecological agriculture, civilized farmers, eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses; basically no more poor households; ensuring a safe and healthy living environment; effectively preventing and combating social evils and dangerous crimes in rural areas; improving income and quality of life for people.
“Towards a modern, green, clean and beautiful countryside, capable of adapting to climate change and urbanization trends, while narrowing the development gap between urban and rural areas, the mountainous areas of Da Nang City must be stable and sustainable. To achieve that, it is necessary to enhance the role in leadership, direction, consulting and direct work. In particular, officials who change their positions must continue to enhance their roles and tasks in effectively implementing national target programs,” said Mr. Le Van Dung.
