In a Bloomberg Power On report on July 13th, analyst Mark Gurman revealed that Apple's iPhone 17 launch event will still take place in early September, as is customary every year. Since Apple usually waits until after Labor Day (September 1st), Gurman predicts the event will take place in the week of September 8th.
Regarding the specific date, Gurman further revealed that Apple prefers holding events on Tuesdays (September 9th) and there have been only a few exceptions in recent years.
For the past 10 years, most iPhone launch events have taken place in the second week of September. The only major exception was October 2020, when the iPhone announcement was delayed by a month due to production issues arising from the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite this, Apple still scheduled the event for the second week of the month, specifically on a Tuesday (October 13, 2020).
According to the Bloomberg writer, the iPhone 17 series isn't the only hardware Apple could launch at the event. The company often uses this event to introduce additional hardware, and it's highly likely that the Apple Watch Series 11, AirPods updates, and other products will also be unveiled.
The colors are the last details to be leaked regarding the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air, with about two months remaining before Apple's official unveiling.
According to the Naver blog account yeux1122 in South Korea, accessory suppliers are producing camera lens protectors for the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air in various colors to match the finish, thus revealing the possible options available.
The iPhone 17 appears to come in black, silver, blue, green, and purple. This aligns with a previous report revealing Apple was testing green and purple color options for the iPhone 17.
Meanwhile, the color options for the iPhone 17 Air could be black, silver, gold, and blue, consistent with recent rumors from leak sources Fixed Focus Digital and Majin Bu .
