Close coordination to effectively implement ethnic and religious policies

On July 14, Comrade Hoang Thu Trang, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province, worked with the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to grasp the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of 2025 and orient the work in the coming time.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has focused on synchronously implementing policies for ethnic minority areas and state management of religion.

Programs and projects under the National Target Program for Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas have been accelerated, especially in the highland areas of the province. The work of ensuring freedom of belief and religion, and preserving religious and ethnic solidarity continues to be focused on, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc.

At the meeting, the leaders of the provincial Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions reported on a number of issues in the process of unit arrangement and organizational work. Currently, the Department is focusing on the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses; establishing working groups to directly go to localities to review and count the number of households eligible for support to build new houses, with a spirit of urgency and accuracy.

Comrade Hoang Thanh Oai, Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, spoke at the meeting.

The Department's leaders proposed to the Provincial People's Committee a number of contents, such as: Amending a number of inappropriate documents; directing relevant departments, branches and sectors to coordinate in reviewing project capital sources and beneficiaries; perfecting the Steering Committee for implementing 3 national target programs; coordination regulations of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee in implementing coordination of supervision and social criticism...

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Comrade Hoang Thu Trang acknowledged the work results and proposals of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions. She requested the Department to continue to improve the effectiveness of its consultation and closely coordinate with all levels and sectors to effectively implement ethnic and religious policies; and speed up the disbursement of programs and projects.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that in the last 6 months of the year, nearly 80% of the capital for the programs must be disbursed. The Department needs to focus on advising and proposing to the province to implement the plan properly. Currently, the whole province still has nearly 600 households that need to remove temporary and dilapidated houses but have not started construction yet. More than 250 households have been propagandized once but have not yet implemented... Therefore, the Department needs to report daily progress and advise on solutions to ensure the completion of removing temporary and dilapidated houses according to the direction of the province.
