The National Assembly dismissed the Secretary General of the National Assembly, the Chief of the National Assembly Office and two Committee Chairmen.

The National Assembly dismissed Mr. Le Quang Tung from the positions of Secretary General - Head of the National Assembly Office, Mr. Le Quang Huy from the positions of Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, and Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai from the positions of Chairman of the Committee on Delegation Affairs.

According to the announcement of the National Assembly Office, on the afternoon of October 24, the National Assembly held a separate meeting on personnel work under the chairmanship of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man .

Dismissal of some positions

Accordingly, the National Assembly listened to Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Member of the National Election Council Nguyen Khac Dinh present the report of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the dismissal of the position of Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Secretary General of the 15th National Assembly - Head of the National Assembly Office.

Dismissal of the position of Chairman of the Committee for Delegation Affairs of the 15th National Assembly; dismissal of the position of Chairman of the Committee for Science , Technology and Environment of the 15th National Assembly.

The National Assembly established a Ballot Counting Committee; conducted a secret ballot on personnel matters; and listened to the Ballot Counting Committee announce the results of the ballot counting on personnel matters.

The National Assembly then listened to Permanent Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Manh (assigned to perform the duties of Secretary General of the National Assembly) present the National Assembly's draft resolutions on personnel work.

Specifically, the National Assembly voted to pass a resolution to dismiss Mr. Le Quang Tung from the position of member of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly and from the position of Secretary General of the 15th National Assembly - Head of the National Assembly Office.

Dismissal of Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai from the position of Chairman of the Committee for Delegation Work of the 15th National Assembly.

Dismiss Mr. Le Quang Huy from the position of Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment of the 15th National Assembly by electronic voting.

As a result, 431 delegates participated in the vote (equal to 90.93% of the total number of delegates); of which 431 delegates approved (equal to 90.93% of the total number of delegates).

The National Assembly also voted on a resolution approving the proposal of the Chairman of the National Election Council on the dismissal of Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai and Mr. Le Quang Tung from the position of members of the National Election Council by electronic voting.

As a result, 428 delegates participated in the vote (equal to 90.30% of the total number of National Assembly delegates); of which 427 delegates approved (equal to 90.08% of the total number of delegates), and 1 delegate did not vote (equal to 0.21% of the total number of delegates).

Previously, Mr. Le Quang Tung was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Afterwards, the National Assembly Standing Committee passed a resolution to transfer and appoint Mr. Le Quang Manh, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee, to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Office. Mr. Le Quang Manh was assigned to direct and manage the activities of the National Assembly Office, and to perform the duties of the Secretary General of the National Assembly - Head of the National Assembly Office until the position of Secretary General of the National Assembly - Head of the National Assembly Office was completed.

Regarding Mr. Le Quang Huy, at the 13th Central Conference, it was agreed to let him resign from the position of member of the 13th Party Central Committee, then the National Assembly Standing Committee agreed to let him resign from his duties as a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

The National Assembly then discussed the above contents in groups.

The National Assembly passed a resolution to dismiss the 15th National Assembly delegate Tran Van Thuc by electronic voting.

As a result, 422 delegates participated in the vote (equal to 89.03% of the total number of delegates); of which 422 delegates approved (equal to 89.03% of the total number of delegates).
