According to a press release from the National Assembly Office, the National Assembly held a closed-door meeting on personnel matters on the afternoon of October 24, chaired by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man .
Dismissal from certain positions
Accordingly, the National Assembly heard the presentation by the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and member of the National Election Council, Nguyen Khac Dinh, on the report of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly regarding the dismissal of the position of member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Secretary General of the 15th National Assembly - Head of the National Assembly Office.
Dismissal from the position of Chairman of the Committee on Delegate Affairs of the 15th National Assembly; dismissal from the position of Chairman of the Committee on Science , Technology and Environment of the 15th National Assembly.

Later, during the group discussions, the National Assembly heard a report presented by Nguyen Thanh Hai, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Delegate Affairs, summarizing the opinions of National Assembly deputies discussed in their respective groups on the aforementioned issues.
The National Assembly establishes a vote counting committee; conducts a secret ballot on personnel matters; and hears the vote counting committee announce the results of the vote count on personnel matters.
Following that, the National Assembly heard Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Manh (assigned to perform the duties of the Secretary General of the National Assembly) present the draft resolutions of the National Assembly on personnel matters.
Specifically, the National Assembly voted to pass a resolution dismissing Mr. Le Quang Tung from his positions as a member of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly; and from his positions as Secretary General of the 15th National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai is relieved of her duties as Chairperson of the Committee on Delegate Affairs of the 15th National Assembly.
Mr. Le Quang Huy was relieved of his position as Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment of the 15th term through an electronic vote.
The results showed that 431 delegates participated in the vote (90.93% of the total number of delegates); of which 431 delegates voted in favor (90.93% of the total number of delegates).
The National Assembly also voted electronically to approve the proposal of the Chairman of the National Election Council to dismiss Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai, and Mr. Le Quang Tung from their positions as members of the National Election Council.
As a result, 428 delegates participated in the vote (90.30% of the total number of National Assembly delegates); of which 427 delegates voted in favor (90.08% of the total number of delegates), and 1 delegate abstained from voting (0.21% of the total number of delegates).
Previously, Mr. Le Quang Tung was assigned and appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
Subsequently, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly passed a resolution transferring and appointing Mr. Le Quang Manh, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee, to the position of Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Office. Mr. Le Quang Manh was assigned to direct and manage the activities of the National Assembly Office, performing the duties of the Secretary General of the National Assembly and Chairman of the National Assembly Office until the position of Secretary General of the National Assembly and Chairman of the National Assembly Office is filled.
Regarding Mr. Le Quang Huy, at the 13th Central Committee meeting, it was agreed to relieve him of his position as a member of the 13th Central Committee of the Party. Subsequently, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly agreed to relieve him of his duties as a member of the 15th National Assembly.
Election of the Secretary-General, Head of the National Assembly Office, and 2 Heads of Offices.
Following that, the National Assembly heard Deputy Speaker Nguyen Khac Dinh present the report of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the election of members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the Committee on Delegate Affairs of the 15th National Assembly.
Along with that, there was a report on the election of the Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment for the 15th term and the election of the Secretary General of the 15th National Assembly - Head of the National Assembly Office. Following this, the National Assembly discussed these matters in groups.
The National Assembly passed a resolution to remove Mr. Tran Van Thuc from his position as a member of the 15th National Assembly through an electronic vote.
The results showed that 422 delegates participated in the vote ( 89.03% of the total number of delegates); of which 422 delegates voted in favor ( 89.03% of the total number of delegates).
