On the morning of October 24, Arabica coffee prices on the New York and Brazilian exchanges decreased slightly when weather forecasts in Vietnam and Brazil turned positive, reducing concerns about the impact on the coffee crop.

The main reason for the decline in world coffee prices is that the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has lowered the possibility of heavy rains caused by Typhoon Fengshen in the Central Highlands. Previously, investors were concerned that the typhoon could cause flooding, delay harvest and reduce productivity in the 2025-2026 crop year. When the risk of crop damage decreased and supply was assured, many investors began to take profits, causing coffee prices to fall sharply.

In addition, a weakening Brazilian real has prompted farmers in the world’s largest coffee exporter to increase sales, adding to downward pressure on prices. Although inventories on the London exchange remain low, caution and short-term profit-taking have temporarily cooled the market.

In the coming time, coffee prices are forecast to fluctuate within a narrow range before forming a new trend, depending on weather developments in the Central Highlands and Brazil. However, in the medium and long term, global supply is still in short supply, so the price level is likely to remain higher than the same period last year.
