Mr. Huynh Ngoc Diep, Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine (Department of Agriculture and Environment), said: From the beginning of 2025 until now, the whole province has injected more than 11.6 million doses of vaccines of all kinds, including those for avian influenza, foot-and-mouth disease, septicemia in cattle, classical swine fever, etc.

Notably, more than 2.6 million of these doses are supported by the central and local budgets, helping localities to be more proactive in vaccination work. Mr. Diep emphasized: Proactive vaccination has contributed to reducing the risk of dangerous diseases arising and spreading in changing seasons and humid climates. Therefore, vaccination is a fundamental and sustainable solution in preventing and fighting diseases in livestock. Professional agencies also recommend that livestock farmers absolutely not be subjective, need to fully and properly vaccinate to protect their livestock and the community.
In particular, from the end of June 2025 to now, African swine fever has occurred in 59 households in 44 villages of 24 communes and wards, with 1,251 infected pigs destroyed, with a total destroyed weight of 73,947 kg. Currently, 2/24 communes and wards (Phu My, An Nhon Nam) have not passed 21 days according to regulations on the time to declare the end of the epidemic. All outbreaks have been updated, reported promptly and fully on the National Animal Disease Management System (VAHIS). The work of zoning, disinfection, monitoring and handling of outbreaks has been seriously implemented by localities, in accordance with professional instructions.

The Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine continues to closely monitor the disease situation, urge localities to strengthen disinfection, guide farmers to apply biosafety measures and fully vaccinate, to control African swine fever, while ensuring disease safety, stabilizing production and food supply in the market.
