The youthful energy of the Party

Việt NamViệt Nam01/02/2024

When the peach blossoms begin to bud, and the tender young shoots awaken, that's when spring has arrived, bringing life to the earth and all things. The colors of spring flowers blend with the vibrant red of the flags spread across the land. For Vietnamese people, the concept of spring is always associated with the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam .

The sun in the dark night

Turning back the painful pages of our nation's history in the early 20th century reveals the immense and great contributions of the Party to the nation. With the country lost, homes destroyed, and the colonial and feudal regimes like two pincers weighing heavily on the nation, the people were enslaved, hungry, cold, and suffering, just as the poet Tố Hữu wrote:

Oh, I miss those old days, the days gone by.

Our village is desolate and withered.

At midnight, the tax collectors' drums beat loudly.

Blood stained the village square, soldiers filled the village roads.

The youthful energy of the Party

The pain of losing the country and the profound compassion for the people drove countless heroes, patriots, and intellectuals to search for a way to save the nation. However, all the struggles failed because there was no political party strong enough to lead, unite the masses, and outline a correct course of action. It was only in the summer of 1920, when the communist fighter Nguyen Ai Quoc, then in France, accessed the first draft of Lenin's theses on the national and colonial question, published in L'Humanité, that a new path opened for the nation.

Lenin's thesis emphasized the task of communist parties to genuinely support the revolutionary movements of colonial countries; uniting the proletariat of capitalist countries with the working masses of all nations against the common enemy of imperialism and feudalism. This ideology provided Nguyen Ai Quoc with the answer to the path to national independence and freedom for his compatriots. He was "deeply moved, exhilarated, enlightened, and filled with confidence." After his time working in France, Nguyen Ai Quoc left the Soviet Union and arrived in Guangzhou, China in November 1924 to build the proletarian revolutionary movement in Vietnam, aiming to establish a proletarian political party of the working class. In June 1925, he founded the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association – the first communist organization in our country.

A momentous milestone for the history of the Vietnamese nation and for the entire Vietnamese people: From February 3-7, 1930, on the Kowloon Peninsula, Hong Kong (China), Nguyen Ai Quoc, on behalf of the Communist International, convened and chaired the conference to unify communist organizations in Vietnam. The conference unanimously agreed to merge the communist party organizations into a single party: the Communist Party of Vietnam. The conference adopted the Party's Political Platform, Brief Strategy, Brief Program, and Brief Regulations. February 3, 1930, became the founding day of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The conference to unify the Vietnamese communist organizations had the historical significance of a Party founding congress. The founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam was a combination of Marxism-Leninism, the patriotic movement, and the workers' movement of our country in the early years of the 20th century. It was the result of thorough political , ideological, and organizational preparation by a collective of pioneering revolutionary fighters, led by Comrade Nguyen Ai Quoc.

The Party was born like a torch illuminating the dark night, opening up prospects for national independence and happiness for the people. Although the road ahead is still fraught with storms and challenges, dawn is breaking on the horizon.

If we miss that spring, my dear!

From hopelessness, vastness, and darkness

The person arrived, bathed in dazzling sunlight.

In my heart, oh, my beloved Party!

I'm alive again, how happy I am!

The emotions of the patriotic young man To Huu when he encountered the guiding light of the Party that spring were also the common feelings and emotions of communist fighters and patriotic citizens when they found the truth, when they found a revolutionary organization that could save the entire nation and the fate of each individual.

Live with the Party, die with the Party.

Ninety-four years since its founding, the Party has ignited the fighting spirit of the entire nation. On January 28, 1941, Nguyen Ai Quoc returned to Vietnam after "thirty years of tireless effort." He lived in Pac Bo cave in Cao Bang, leading the revolutionary movement and preparing for the general uprising to seize power. On August 19, 1945, the August Revolution succeeded, and on September 2, 1945, at a large rally in Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh solemnly read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and ending nearly 100 years of colonial and feudal rule that had weighed heavily on the country.

Over the past 94 years, the Communist Party of Vietnam has demonstrated its qualities and governing role in leading the entire nation to seize and maintain power, protect the nation's invaluable independence, eradicate poverty and backwardness, advance the country towards socialism, initiate and lead the reform process, and integrate Vietnam deeply with the world. The Party has guided, united, and amplified the strength of the entire nation.

Live with the Party, die with the Party.

A pure and loyal heart shines brightly for all eternity.

The sun is sometimes cloudy.

Our hearts are still stained red with fresh blood.

For our country to be independent, free, dignified, and beautiful today, with people in all regions enjoying a prosperous and happy life, millions of heroes, revolutionary soldiers, patriots, and steadfast pioneering leaders of the Party endured hardships, imprisonment, brutal torture, and executions, yet all remained loyal to the Party, their fighting spirit against the enemy unwavering, and their revolutionary optimism intact. These include figures like Tran Phu, Le Hong Phong, Ngo Gia Tu, Nguyen Van Cu, Nguyen Duc Canh, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, To Hieu, Truong Chinh, Xuan Thuy, Le Van Luong, Ha Huy Tap, Ho Tung Mau, Vo Thi Sau, and Ly Tu Trong... Every mountain, every river, every inch of land, every blade of grass in this country is soaked with the blood and sweat of millions of cadres, Party members, and patriots with "shining, unwavering hearts" who valued the life of the Party and the life of the nation more than their own.

On the threshold of the Year of the Dragon (2014), we fondly reflect on the proud and glorious journey of the Party, and cherish even more what our country has achieved today. As General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong wrote: "Our country has never before had such a foundation, potential, position, and international prestige as it does today." Closing out 2023, amidst more difficulties and challenges than opportunities and advantages, and with many unusual and complex developments in the world, Vietnam has achieved many important and comprehensive results, with outstanding achievements and milestones in many areas. GDP growth reached approximately 5%, placing Vietnam among the high-growth countries in the region and the world. Political stability has been maintained. The lives of the people are increasingly improving towards prosperity and civilization. In particular, the Party's resolute and effective fight against corruption has further strengthened the people's trust and affection for the Party. Despite the occasional cloud cover, as the poet To Huu once wrote: "Our hearts still flow with fresh blood." The people's trust and love for the Party and President Ho Chi Minh are as firm as a mountain and cannot be easily shaken.

The youthful energy of the Party

The Party Committee and people of Ha Tinh are determined and striving to move Ha Tinh forward, making it prosperous and developed...

A fresh new day is knocking on every door, knocking on every soul. On the land of Lam Hong, rich in patriotic and revolutionary traditions, welcoming the new year of the Year of the Dragon amidst the vibrant colors of flowers and the flavors of the traditional Tet holiday, the people of Ha Tinh are even more proud of the glorious Party, the great President Ho Chi Minh, and the Party leaders who were sons of their homeland: Tran Phu, Ha Huy Tap; and the heroes of Hong La such as: Ly Tu Trong, Phan Dinh Giot, Vo Trieu Chung, Vo Thi Tan...

The heroic Soviet blood flows in our hearts, transforming into revolutionary action that enabled the Party Committee and people of Ha Tinh, along with the rest of the country, to complete the national liberation struggle. Today, we are determined to strive to advance Ha Tinh, making it prosperous and developed. Although the road ahead is still fraught with difficulties, with the trust and unity of the entire Party and people, we will surely reach our goal: to make the people wealthy, the nation strong, and society just, democratic, and civilized, as earnestly desired by our beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
