However, the reality on the field was completely different. Swiatek, determined to conquer the first Wimbledon championship of his career, showed great determination, while Anisimova, playing in her first Grand Slam final, showed obvious psychological tension.
In set 1, while Swiatek played solidly and effectively with each shot, Anisimova made continuous errors. Swiatek then won 3 break points to win 6-0.
In the second set, the situation was no different. Anisimova, with her increasingly stressed mentality, played like a "chicken with its hair caught". She continued to lose the break to Swiatek 3 times and lost 0-6 in the second set. In the whole match, Anisimova only won 24 points and lost in a way that few people thought possible.
Swiatek's 6-0, 6-0 win in the final meant she matched a 114-year-old Wimbledon record, set by Dorothea Lambert Chambers when she beat Dora Boothby 6-0, 6-0 in 1911.
If we only count the Open era (since 1968), no player has won in a similar way to Swiatek in Wimbledon.
