In Viet Hung ward, the Green Life Ha Long Cooperative is a testament to the practical significance of small actions in environmental protection. Established in 2019, the Green Life Ha Long Cooperative has chosen a different approach by collecting seemingly discarded materials such as billboards, banners, old clothes, fabric scraps, plastic bottles, tires, and many other types of non-biodegradable waste to recycle them into useful products for daily life. Through ingenuity and creativity, things once considered waste are "reborn" into handbags, wallets, backpacks, plant pots, decorations, and other environmentally friendly items.

Ms. Tran Thi Huong, Director of Green Life Ha Long Cooperative, said: "Many materials that seem like waste can still be utilized if we know how to be creative and recycle them. Besides creating useful products, we also hope to spread a green lifestyle, raise awareness of saving and reusing old items in the community, contributing to reducing waste and protecting the environment through even the smallest actions."
Over time, through the activities of the Green Life Ha Long Cooperative, the "Zero Waste" lifestyle has gradually spread to cooperative members and tourists. From utilizing old materials and recycling them into useful products to changing consumption habits, many members have gradually developed an awareness of reducing waste, prioritizing reuse, and living more environmentally friendly.
In particular, the innovative recycling model using seemingly discarded materials brings novelty and impresses many tourists , especially foreign visitors, who come to experience and learn about the journey of "reviving" waste into products that are both aesthetically pleasing and highly applicable in daily life.

The director of Green Life Ha Long Cooperative also added that, in addition to recycling banners, fabric scraps, and used plastic items, the cooperative is now collecting empty milk cartons from kindergartens and primary schools in the province for reuse, creating useful and environmentally friendly products. This activity not only contributes to reducing the amount of waste generated but also spreads awareness of waste sorting, collection, and recycling among students, teachers, and parents, gradually forming a green living habit for everyone from the simplest things in daily life.
In recent times, waste recycling activities in the province have been increasingly implemented with many creative and practical approaches. In Dong Trieu ward, the Women's Union maintains and expands many models, such as "Turning waste into money," "Green house," "Recycling plastic waste," "Using plastic baskets for shopping," and a model of composting organic waste from household waste, linked to the campaign for women to participate in the "3R" (Reduce - Recycle - Reuse) initiative.
Through branch activities and household outreach, many members have gradually developed the habit of sorting waste at source, utilizing organic waste as fertilizer, reducing plastic waste, and building an environmentally friendly lifestyle. In particular, the "Turning Waste into Money" model not only contributes to waste reduction but also creates a source of support for members and children in difficult circumstances, thereby spreading the humanitarian meaning through small actions in daily life.

From small actions like sorting, reusing, and recycling, many effective waste management models in the province are fostering a green lifestyle in individuals, families, and communities. This not only contributes to reducing waste and protecting the environment but also spreads a sense of responsibility, aiming for a greener, cleaner, more beautiful, and sustainable living environment.
