VHO - Historical witnesses and ethnic minority artisans in A Luoi district (Hue city) have reenacted the naming ceremony after the Ho family, in memory of beloved President Ho Chi Minh .
On May 19, the exhibition "Cultural Heritage Space of President Ho Chi Minh in Hue" was opened on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), the 130th anniversary of his and his family's move to live in Hue (1895 - 2025).
On the same day, Hue City solemnly held a ceremony to offer incense and flowers to the beloved leader of the nation. Hue City is honored and proud to be the place where he spent 10 years living, studying and participating in patriotic movements.
Hue currently preserves many tangible and intangible cultural heritages related to President Ho Chi Minh's childhood. Among them, there are 4 special national relics and many city-level memorial relics as evidence of the time when he and his family lived, worked and studied.
Before the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, Hue city leaders and representatives of departments, branches and local people offered him fresh lotus flowers, remembering his great contributions.
The Party Committee and People of Hue City will continue to promote the potential, resources and achievements, determined to build the city to develop quickly and sustainably.
On this occasion, at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism opened the exhibition "Cultural Heritage Space of President Ho Chi Minh in Hue", introducing to the public nearly 200 documents, artifacts and images related to the heritage system of the President in the ancient capital of Hue.
In particular, at the exhibition, the public witnessed the space reenacting the Ho naming ceremony in 1969 by ethnic minorities in the mountainous district of A Luoi. This ceremony was performed by historical witnesses and ethnic minority artisans.
In addition, folk songs praising President Ho Chi Minh that have been passed down in Hue since the resistance war have been performed by artists, spreading to today's and future generations.
Participating in the reenactment of the Ho surname ceremony, village elder Pi Hoih Cu Lai, a Co Tu ethnic group in Hong Ha commune, A Luoi district, said that for decades, ethnic minorities in A Luoi have always remembered Uncle Ho and wanted to name themselves with the Ho surname.
The people consider this a great honor, a sentiment that the people of A Luoi want to send to Uncle Ho. Currently, most of the ethnic minorities in A Luoi have the surname Ho. Along with that, the people also promote studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh according to Directive 05 of the Politburo .
