Superman: Legacy is an important project introducing a completely new superhero "universe" adapted from DC comics, different from what audiences have seen before, under the creative and executive control of James Gunn (after he completed his mission with the movie Guardians of the Galaxy 3 for Marvel) and the head of DC Studios, Peter Safran.
According to sources, up to 6 actors participated in the audition for the role of Clark Kent in the latest version of the film, and David Corenswet was chosen. Before David Corenswet, there were 3 artists who had played this role in many different Superman films such as Christopher Reeve in Superman (1978), Brandon Routh in Superman Returns (2006) and Henry Cavill in Man of Steel (2013).
Henry Cavill's role a decade ago helped him define the superhero on the big screen. He then continued to appear in many films such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Justice League (2017) and a brief cameo in Black Adam (2022).
