Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Vietnam Peace Committee Uong Chu Luu emphasized that this was an opportunity to remember and pay tribute to a multi-talented person, a talented artist, an excellent people's foreign affairs activist, a talented and respected leader of the Vietnam Peace Committee...
He said: "The late musician Xuan Oanh has passed away, but his image is always familiar and close to us. His life and career will live forever."
Mr. Uong Chu Luu affirmed that the late musician Xuan Oanh is a shining example of knowledge, experience, talent and art, especially in mobilizing and persuading international friends to support Vietnam.
He once said: "People's diplomacy is like a tightrope artist, you must always hold on tightly to the rope to be able to perform somersaults, if you let go of the rope you will die." The rope here is the Party's guidelines and policies, and whether the guidelines are expressed attractively or not depends on the "artist".
The Chairman of the Vietnam Peace Committee said that from a young age, Do Xuan Oanh was an enthusiastic, passionate person with a patriotic spirit and a very early revolutionary awareness. He wholeheartedly followed the Party and devoted his whole life to the Fatherland and the people.
He is a person who works in many fields and in each field, he is successful and leaves many unforgettable marks. He is a talented artist with many famous musical and painting works such as the heroic song August 19 Revolution, the song Blue Sky Again ...
We also know him as a translator, an outstanding journalist who worked in propaganda at the Cuu Quoc Newspaper for 9 years in the Viet Bac resistance zone, as one of the first two English-language announcers of the Voice of Vietnam Radio Station and as the person who read the historic Declaration of Independence abroad in English.
In memory of and gratitude to the late musician Do Xuan Oanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Peace Committee Uong Chu Luu said that future generations need to continue to promote the glorious tradition of their ancestors, strive to contribute more effectively to the cause of protecting peace, protecting, building and developing the country in the new era, so that people-to-people diplomacy deserves to be one of the three pillars of the country's comprehensive and modern diplomacy.
At the meeting, delegates watched vivid documentary footage about the late musician Xuan Oanh. Many people were moved to express their admiration for his talent and great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

Musician Xuan Oanh (1923-2010) was one of the participants in establishing the Vietnam World Peace Protection Committee under the direction of the Party and Uncle Ho to mobilize, call for, and gain the solidarity and support of peace-loving and progressive people in the world, especially the American and French people in our people's just struggle against French colonialism and American imperialism. He was a member of the Delegation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam at the Paris Conference on Vietnam from 1968 to 1972, and attended many international peace conferences.
