“I am very pleased to have diverse tourism services like those in famous beaches. Tam Hai also has the advantage of pristine beaches and rocky reefs, delicious and cheap seafood. Now, there are more accommodation, camping and entertainment services for tourism, so it will be a great opportunity for more visitors to come here,” said Ms. Thu.

A service provider here said that not only visitors from far away but also many locals and Nui Thanh people choose to rent SUP, tents or book a party service combined with overnight camping.

“SUP paddling service is always crowded in the mornings and afternoons when people swim in the sea and want to paddle SUP to immerse themselves in nature.

As for the party service combined with camping, it is for family groups or groups of young people who love to experience and relax. If we combine community tourism, with management and guidance from the government, I believe the island commune will be a famous destination" - this person said.

According to the leaders of Tam Hai commune, over the past year, many local individuals have developed tourism services. Although there are no specific statistics, the number of households providing homestays, food services, camping, SUP, etc. has grown very strongly. The trend of outdoor tourism is becoming a trend, so the number of visitors to Tam Hai island commune has increased, especially on weekends.

In addition, the island commune also receives support from Vloggers, Youtubers, and Tiktokers. They are attracted by the beauty of this island, so they come here to make experience videos, promote through digital platforms and social networks, helping many people know the information and come here to travel.

“Most of the visitors from Da Nang, Quang Nam and their hometowns returned in large numbers. They chose to have fun and relax for a short 2-day weekend at the island commune because the service prices were reasonable and the people were friendly, so they experienced many interesting things about the life and culture of the coastal village” - Mr. Do Kim Hung - Vice Chairman of Tam Hai Commune People's Committee said.

Waiting for investors

However, tourism activities in Tam Hai are currently mainly spontaneous. Therefore, tourism products are still quite monotonous. And the exploitation and development of tourism in the locality still has a large gap. There is no specific promotion or planning activity, or in other words, there is still no systematic organization of tourism development. Visitors know about Tam Hai mainly through word of mouth, through social networks...

According to the tourism development orientation of Nui Thanh, in the future, there will be formed main tours, including "Nui Thanh Imprint" (visiting the Nui Thanh Victory Monument - Tich Tay Coconut Forest - Rang Beach - Tam Hai Island Commune), "Up the Forest and Down the Sea" tour (Tam My Tay Commune Fruit Garden - Giang Thom Lake - Rang Beach - Tam Hai Island Commune), and "A Day as an Island Fisherman" experience tour. However, for many reasons, these tours are still ideas and cannot be implemented.

Identifying the potential of sea tourism, the People's Committee of Nui Thanh district and Tam Hai commune has continuously invited investors to survey. At the same time, the local government always creates conditions for local households to provide tourism services.

The People's Committee of Nui Thanh district has approved an investment policy of 20 billion VND to build two 30-ton ferries to transport people and vehicles. For the Ban Than - Hon Mang - Hon Dua scenic spot, Nui Thanh has carried out a landscape improvement project with a total cost of more than 3.7 billion VND.

Not to mention, the Tam Hai island commune tourism project with items such as wharf, parking lot, restroom, and site clearance compensation is included in the public investment portfolio. The project is expected to be implemented in 2025 with a total cost of 6.7 billion VND...

Recently, the Tam Hai painting village restoration project in 2024 was carried out with the participation of nearly 50 staff, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Architecture, University of Technology - University of Danang. The volunteers renewed 28 murals painted since 2017.

The theme of the painting village is clear when using the main color of blue of the sea and sky to recreate the peaceful life, culture and scenery of Tam Hai fishing village. The special thing about the paintings is that they create an interactive space when visitors take photos to check in.

“We are in dire need of support for investment in the waterway transport system, expansion of main roads connecting scenic spots, and promotion of tourism in Tam Hai… because currently, the number of tourists coming here is huge, opening up opportunities for development for the island commune” – Mr. Do Kim Hung suggested.
