"This is the first time I have trained with the U.23 Vietnam team. Coach Troussier has taught and guided me in great detail from passing the ball, choosing the right timing, etc. At first, I had some difficulty, but then I focused and understood the coach's philosophy," shared rookie Hoang Van Toan of the U.23 Vietnam team.
Van Toan is an interesting choice of coach Philippe Troussier in this training session of U.23 Vietnam. In the context of some pillars such as Van Do and Thanh Nhan being absent due to injury, the French coach has tested some new faces, including Van Toan.
Player Hoang Van Toan
This season, Van Toan has played 6 matches in V-League (total playing time is 165 minutes), scoring 1 goal. That was the goal against Thanh Hoa Club in round 11, helping Hanoi Police Club win with a score of 4-1.
Van Toan expressed his admiration for his senior Hoang Duc in the Vietnam national team when sharing: "In the Vietnam national team, I really like Hoang Duc. Being able to train with the national team members, I feel lucky and learn a lot from them. They are the motivation and inspiration for me to continue to strive to be the person ahead."
Midfielder Van Toan affirmed that he will try his best to have a position in the U.23 Vietnam team, thanks to which he was selected in the list of players participating in the 2024 U.23 Asian qualifiers.
"When joining the national team, the level of competition is very strict, my teammates are very potential and I have to try very hard. My goal is to try and be determined to be able to be named in the upcoming U.23 Asian qualifiers," Van Toan concluded.
