For over 20 years, Dr. Le Van Tuan has been dedicated to the 16th Military-Civilian Hospital, successfully participating in the emergency treatment of thousands of critically ill patients. Between 2020 and 2025 alone, Dr. Tuan directly provided emergency care and treatment to over 2,600 patients and performed anesthesia and sedation for over 2,000 surgical procedures, ensuring absolute safety. For example: In December 2018, the department received a 30-year-old pregnant patient nearing her due date. The patient was experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, foaming at the mouth, convulsions, and a risk of biting her tongue… With his experience and sense of responsibility, Dr. Tuan, along with the hospital's medical team, successfully resuscitated the patient, ensuring a safe delivery for both mother and child. Before being discharged, the patient wrote a letter of thanks to the doctors, nurses of the Surgery-Intensive Care Unit, and the hospital's Board of Directors.
In a conversation with us, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Thuc, Director of Military-Civilian Hospital 16, stated that Lieutenant Colonel, Doctor Le Van Tuan is highly skilled and exemplifies the spirit of "a good doctor is like a loving mother." Furthermore, Doctor Tuan has numerous innovative ideas and scientific research projects in patient care and treatment, which have been successfully implemented at the hospital by the hospital's scientific council. A notable example is his research project, "Evaluating the effectiveness of brachial plexus block combined with superficial cervical plexus block in clavicular bone surgeries at Military-Civilian Hospital 16," which has contributed to improving the quality of medical examination, treatment, and healthcare for soldiers and civilians at Military-Civilian Hospital 16.
