Speeding up to finish highway projects in the Mekong Delta soon
At the construction site of the expressway project in the Mekong Delta region, contractors have mobilized maximum human resources and vehicles to reach the finish line soon.

According to the Ministry of Construction , 21 key transport projects are being implemented in the Southern region. Of these, 13 projects will be completed in 2025 with a total length of 354 km (including 336 km of the planned completion of 3,000 km of expressways), including: Can Tho - Ca Mau, Cao Lanh - Lo Te - Rach Soi, Cao Lanh - An Huu expressways, Rach Mieu 2 bridge, etc. The Mekong Delta planning has 6 expressways with a total length of about 1,200 km, of which the vertical axis has 3 routes with a length of 600 km and the horizontal axis has 3 routes with a length of about 600 km. In addition to the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan - Can Tho expressway that has been put into operation with a length of 120 km, the remaining routes such as: Can Tho - Ca Mau, Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang , Cao Lanh - Lo Te - Rach Soi, Cao Lanh - An Huu are being invested in and accelerated to reach the finish line soon. Mr. Tran Tri Quang, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, said: For component project 1, the contract value has reached 65.2% so far and is expected to be technically open to traffic by the end of 2025. The contractor has mobilized more than 300 engineers and workers, and more than 140 pieces of equipment to organize the construction. As for component project 2, the total capital plan assigned to date is 2,941 billion VND. The cumulative disbursement to date is 2,338 billion/2,941 billion VND, reaching 79.49%. The value of completed construction as of July 20 is about 944.83 billion/2,368 billion VND, accounting for 39.9% of the construction value. The joint venture contractor is currently implementing 40 construction projects. For the route, contractors are constructing service roads, filling sand, installing wicks and adding load to treat weak soil. The Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway has a length of 110.85 km of expressway and 25.85 km of connecting route and is divided into 2 component projects (DATP) including the Can Tho - Hau Giang section and the Hau Giang - Ca Mau section. The project has a total investment of 27,523 billion VND, including 4 construction packages, starting on January 1, 2023, scheduled to be completed in December 2025. A representative of Truong Son Construction Corporation (the contractor) said: During this time, it rains almost every day, but the contractor still continues to construct. The contractor proactively develops a suitable work plan, taking advantage of the rain to roll the roadbed to achieve efficiency. The rainy weather affected some items, so the unit proactively adjusted the ground treatment solution to vacuum pump (VCM) to shorten the time. The project has completed all the work of filling sand to wait for settlement, some sections have been unloaded to construct the asphalt concrete road surface. At the construction site, contractors are arranging 200 construction teams, 955 machines and equipment and 2,125 personnel to carry out the construction simultaneously. The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project Phase 1 is 188.2 km long, has 4 lanes, and a total investment of 44,691 billion VND. The project is determined to basically open the project to traffic on December 19 this year, nearly 6 months earlier than planned, and complete and put into synchronous operation in 2027. The project is divided into 4 component projects, An Giang Provincial People's Committee is the managing agency of component project 1, 57 km long, total investment of 13,526 billion VND. Can Tho City People's Committee is the managing agency of component project 2 (through the old Can Tho City) 37.4 km long, total investment of 9,725 billion VND. Component project 3 (through the old Hau Giang province), 36.7 km long, total investment of 9,601 billion VND and component project 4 (through the old Soc Trang province), about 58.4 km long, total investment of 11,961 billion VND.
