Construction of the Dong Trieu City Medical Center is being accelerated.

Construction began in late 2024, and the project to renovate and rebuild the Dong Trieu City Medical Center is currently in its accelerated construction phase, aiming for completion in November 2025 to meet the requirements of medical examination, treatment, protection, and healthcare for the people.

The renovation and reconstruction projects for the Dong Trieu City Medical Center are being implemented with focused effort.

The project to renovate and rebuild the Dong Trieu City Medical Center has a total investment of 390 billion VND. The design includes the construction of new 8-story buildings for treatment and examination with 235 beds; the construction of two new 3-story buildings for the infectious disease department with 30 beds and for the operation of disease control and community health departments; and the renovation of the infection control building along with several other items of the Dong Trieu City Medical Center.

After more than four months, the construction of the new treatment and examination buildings, as well as the infectious disease and disease control department, is progressing according to schedule. The main 8-story building has completed the roof of the 5th floor. The consortium of units is focusing its resources on completing the structural work before the rainy season.

Mr. Tran Thanh Phong, Head of the Project Management Board of 319 Southern Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, said: "For the current 8-story building, the company has mobilized 90 workers on the construction site; at peak times, we will mobilize about 150 workers to complete and put the project into operation soon."

The eight-story building, which will serve as a treatment and medical examination center with 235 beds, has completed the roofing of the fifth floor.

According to the current construction schedule, the consortium of contractors completes one floor of the building blocks per week. The most difficult and complex part of the construction is completing the technical aspects of the rooms. To ensure the project's progress, the investor has requested that the contractors strengthen coordination throughout the construction phases, striving to complete the project and hand over the building for use in November of this year.

Mr. Pham Duc Dung, Project Supervisor, Provincial Project Management Board for Civil and Industrial Construction Projects, said: Following the province's directive on disbursing public investment funds and settling accounts for projects before June 30th, mobilizing manpower and unskilled labor in the area is very difficult. The unit requires contractors to increase the mobilization of personnel from other localities to the construction site to ensure three shifts of work.

Currently, the Dong Trieu City Medical Center receives, examines, and treats an average of 7,000-8,000 outpatients and 350-400 inpatients daily. Upon completion, the project will add 235 beds, bringing the total number of beds to 400. Dr. Le Ky Truong, Director of the Dong Trieu City Medical Center, stated: "With the current infrastructure, the Dong Trieu City Medical Center is frequently overloaded. Therefore, the addition of treatment buildings and beds will enable the center to fully implement healthcare services for the people in Dong Trieu and surrounding areas. To ensure the project's progress, in addition to site preparation, the center is arranging beds and communicating with each patient so that the contractor can operate three shifts continuously without affecting the examination and treatment of patients." Officials, doctors, and people in the area are eagerly awaiting the completion of the project, gradually improving the infrastructure, attracting skilled doctors to perform advanced techniques, enhancing the quality of medical examination and treatment, and promoting the role of grassroots healthcare.
