Construction is being accelerated to ensure some items are ready for use by April 30th.

To ensure that a portion of the seaside park is operational in time for the April 30th holiday, hundreds of workers and vehicles are working day and night on the project to renovate Thuy Van Street in Vung Tau City.

Focus on completing each item.

These days, along the entire Thuy Van road renovation project, the atmosphere is more bustling than ever. The roar of bulldozers and asphalt pavers resounds. The sounds of stone chipping and steel cutting, mixed with the lively calls of the work teams, echo throughout the project site. The massive construction site is like a machine running at full capacity to ensure that several items are completed on time for April 30th.

According to observations at the site, approximately 1,200 workers and engineers, along with more than 80 pieces of equipment, are mobilized to work continuously in three shifts each day. Construction teams are divided into smaller groups, organized into clusters, and deployed in rotation to maximize the use of the available space.

The Thuy Van beach park area, the focal point of package 12, is entering its final stages of completion. Of the 13 areas included in this package, 11 have essentially completed the main items and will be put into trial use during the upcoming holiday. Lush green grass is being laid down on the ground. An automatic irrigation system is also being installed simultaneously with the adjustment of paving stones and the planting of additional trees.

“The project is at its most critical stage. We haven't changed our goals; we remain determined to launch a trial run of a portion of the seaside park in time for April 30th. All engineers, workers, and machinery have been deployed here. Everyone is working intensely, but with great determination and unity,” said Mr. Doan Hai Linh, Acting Director of the Investment and Land Development Project Management Board of Vung Tau City.

The basic infrastructure has taken shape.

Currently, the Thuy Van road surface has been largely completed with hot asphalt paving. The rainwater drainage system, with large D1500 and D1800 pipes, has also been almost entirely completed and is ready to operate as soon as the first heavy rains of the season arrive.

Within the park grounds, internal roads are being paved, and the embankment and foundation work has reached 80-95% completion. Six service tunnels are progressing rapidly. Several auxiliary items such as the lazy river, wastewater pumping station, and landscaping are also being urgently implemented to synchronize with the overall progress of the entire area. It is expected that the project will officially enter the trial operation phase from April 27th.

After April 30th, the remaining items under Package 12 will continue to be completed, with the entire package to be finished by June 30th, 2025. Simultaneously, other important packages of the project will also be accelerated, including: the Whale Statue, the central square, and the pedestrian tunnel system crossing Thuy Van Street. Currently, 2 out of 5 pedestrian tunnels have commenced construction, and the remaining 3 are completing the necessary procedures for implementation in the near future.
Once all the projects are completed, Thuy Van Beach Park will be a new highlight on the urban landscape map, with a large-scale public space capable of hosting cultural and tourism events, serving local residents and millions of visitors every year.

The biggest challenge currently is that some locations within the project area still have land acquisition issues or require technical adjustments to suit the actual construction situation. To avoid affecting the overall progress, the project management team holds daily meetings, closely monitors the situation of each construction team, and promptly adjusts the order of work implementation.

“As soon as we have the land available, we immediately bring in people and machinery to start working, not leaving a single square meter empty. Some days, construction starts early in the morning, continues through noon, and doesn't stop until 10 pm. Everyone understands that this is a critical period, and we need to double our efforts,” shared Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nam, Deputy Commander of the Thuy Van road renovation project.
