Tanh Linh is a mountainous district of Binh Thuan province with a natural area of nearly 117.5 km2, of which the main part is forest and forestry land accounting for about 65%. With the characteristics of the locality, the District People's Committee has recently developed and issued a plan to implement the Project on developing the multi-use value of the forest ecosystem to 2030, with a vision to 2050 in Tanh Linh. Accordingly, it aims to promote the potential, strengths and multi-use value of the forest ecosystem through improving the efficiency of management and sustainable use of forest resources. The implementation of this plan also contributes to the conservation of nature and biodiversity in the special-use forest ecosystem associated with the conservation of endangered and rare forest animals... Along with that, attention is paid to developing effective and sustainable forms of agricultural - forestry - fishery production organization based on exploiting the potential and advantages of each region and each locality to increase the added value from the forest.
To effectively implement, Tanh Linh will focus on developing legal wood raw materials and enhancing the value of local wood processing facilities and enterprises. Specifically, continue to implement the Project on developing wood raw material areas and sustainable processing in Tanh Linh district for the period 2021 - 2030, thereby evaluating and drawing lessons for the period up to 2050... Regarding the orientation of developing non-timber forest products and medicinal plants, the locality assigned functional units to coordinate surveys to determine favorable areas for developing non-timber forest products and medicinal plants under the forest canopy with high economic value. From there, propose conservation, exploitation and sustainable use plans according to the potential and strengths of each product and each ecological region. On the other hand, encourage the development of facilities and factories processing products from non-timber forest products (such as bamboo, reed, rattan, etc.) to diversify products, while at the same time building OCOP products of medicinal herbs and products suitable to local characteristics.
In the coming period, Tanh Linh also plans to develop combined forms of agriculture - forestry - fishery, including implementing guidelines for building a number of models: Cultivation, animal husbandry under forest canopy, development of medicinal plants under forest canopy, development of multi-purpose trees... according to the provisions of law as well as ensuring suitability with the conditions of mountainous districts. In addition, it also focuses on developing forest environmental services such as diversifying and expanding revenue sources from forest environmental services in accordance with the provisions of law, especially forest carbon absorption and retention services. In addition, it will strengthen management and provide guidance to improve the efficiency of using revenue from forest environmental services to invest in protecting and sustainably developing forest resources. Especially in ensuring fair sharing of benefits with local communities, gradually increasing income and stabilizing the lives of those directly involved in forest protection and development.
The plan to implement the Project on developing multi-use values of forest ecosystems to 2030, with a vision to 2050 in Tanh Linh also aims to develop ecotourism, resorts, and entertainment. Such as strengthening cooperation between forest owners and communities and encouraging communities and households to participate in the process of planning, managing tourism, providing tourism products and services. Or piloting the implementation of ecotourism models associated with community tourism, attracting resources to participate in the sustainable development of ecotourism, resorts, and entertainment in forest ecosystems...
The implementation of this plan also requires relevant departments and localities to closely follow the proposed content, while integrating programs, projects and policies being implemented in Tanh Linh to ensure effectiveness and suitability to the actual conditions of the district.
