Currently, import and export activities through border gates in Lang Son province are recording positive results.

According to the Management Board of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Economic Zone, from the beginning of 2026 to the present, import and export activities through Lang Son's border gates have continued to be stable and have shown impressive growth. The total import and export turnover of goods in the first quarter of 2026 reached nearly 25 billion USD (an increase of 37% compared to the same period in 2025); of which, the turnover of goods declared at the Customs Sub-department of Region VI reached nearly 2.1 billion USD (an increase of 98.6% compared to the same period in 2025).

The above figures reflect the effectiveness of flexible management and operation by border gate authorities. Problems arising during customs clearance are generally handled promptly through close coordination between forces such as customs, border guards, quarantine, and other relevant units. As a result, the business environment at the Lang Son border gate area is becoming increasingly open and transparent, building trust among the business community.

However, current practices are also putting a lot of pressure on trade activities at the Lang Son border gate, as the world situation is developing complicatedly, especially the conflict in the Middle East which has caused a sharp increase in fuel prices, leading to increased logistics costs… directly affecting the supply chain of goods across the border, especially the Vietnam-China trade route.

Faced with these challenges, the People's Committee of Lang Son province has requested relevant departments, agencies, and functional forces to implement a comprehensive range of solutions to improve the efficiency of import and export management. Among these, the motto "The State creates, businesses lead, and the public and private sectors work together" is emphasized.

One of Lang Son's key tasks in the coming period is to continue strengthening inter-agency coordination in handling procedures and controlling activities at border gates; supporting and guiding businesses to carry out procedures quickly and promptly, and identifying and resolving difficulties for businesses.

Simultaneously, measures to combat corruption, trade fraud, and the collection of unauthorized fees have been tightened. Authorities are only permitted to collect fees in accordance with the law, and any actions that cause inconvenience or hinder import and export activities are strictly prohibited.

The Management Board of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Economic Zone, along with relevant agencies, proactively exchanged information and held discussions with the Chinese side to agree on solutions to facilitate customs clearance; simultaneously, they strengthened the updating of market information, export demand, and changes in China's trade policies to provide timely support to businesses. They proposed extending working hours at the border gate during peak import and export periods to improve customs clearance capacity, reduce congestion, and meet the growing trade demand.

Border guards and police forces are coordinating traffic flow and arranging vehicles scientifically to avoid localized congestion. Parking areas and cargo transfer zones are being arranged appropriately to enhance receiving capacity...

With synchronized and decisive solutions, the management and operation of import and export activities at border gates in Lang Son are gradually improving, creating an important foundation for the goal of double-digit economic growth in 2026.
