DTO - Identifying public investment, especially the transport infrastructure system, as one of the important driving forces in socio -economic development, Dong Thap province is focusing on speeding up the progress of key projects.

The Bao Dinh River Road Project is one of the key projects being implemented by the province. Recognizing the significance and importance of the project, the investor and related units are making efforts to overcome difficulties in site clearance to speed up the project's progress. In parallel with focusing on completing site clearance at the remaining locations, the investor is focusing on urging contractors to speed up construction at locations where the site has been allocated.
According to the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works of Dong Thap Province, the Bao Dinh River Road Project has a total investment of nearly 2,000 billion VND; of which the estimated land acquisition cost is more than 726 billion VND. The project has 5 construction packages that will implement many items. Specifically, the construction of a traffic route along the two river banks with a total length of 9.978 km; construction of a prestressed reinforced concrete embankment to protect the river banks with a total length of 10.28 km. At the same time, arrange a drainage system, lighting system for the project area; arrange 3 parks and green areas along the sidewalks of the road on the North bank; increase green areas at suitable locations on the South bank. The project implementation period is 6 years (2022-2027), from the central budget of 1,350 billion VND and the rest is invested by the local budget.
Currently, the project has implemented 2 construction packages at the beginning of the route with a total value of nearly 525 billion VND. The progress of the packages has reached about 64% of the value. Despite many difficulties in terms of land, the investor and contractors are making efforts and determination to gradually overcome difficulties and speed up the project progress.
Mr. Vuong Phu Dan - Chief Supervisor of Phase 2 (investor of the Bao Dinh River Road Project) said that since Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Tran Tri Quang came to inspect the progress of the project, Phase 2 has been accelerated a lot. Specifically, the site has been handed over over 90%. In the sections where the site has been handed over, the investor and contractor have accelerated the construction progress. Currently, the contractor is simultaneously deploying at the locations where the site has been handed over. In the coming time, the investor will urge the contractor to focus on human resources and equipment, trying to complete all the piling work at the sections where the site has been handed over by August 31. At the same time, the package will focus on constructing concrete embankment walls and other items.
Component 2 of Provincial Road 864 Project (Tien River Road) is also one of the key projects being implemented by the province. According to the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects of Dong Thap province, Component 2 has a total investment of over 2,173 billion VND. The total length of the route is about 44km (of which, about 21km is newly built, about 9.5km is upgraded and expanded, and about 13.5km is fully utilized). Currently, Component 2 has been completed and put into use the section from National Highway 50 to Provincial Road 877B and Vam Giong Bridge, about 15.7km long. The value of implementation to date has reached 1,485/2,173 billion VND, reaching 68.3% of the total investment. The project is also implementing the section from Long Binh to Den Do. The total length of this section is about 14.79km, and construction started on June 26, 2025. The section from Den Do to Tan Thanh alone has a total length of about 3.9km, with a land acquisition cost of about 60 billion VND. The land acquisition work is being carried out with a total investment of about 114 billion VND.
Mr. Tran Minh Trung - Director of the Dong Thap Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that in order to speed up the progress of the newly deployed packages, the investor will actively coordinate with units to regularly inspect and urge contractors to speed up construction at the construction site. At the same time, focus on implementing site clearance work for the section about to be deployed.
Component 2 of the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Construction Project Phase 1 is a project of strategic significance in the socio-economic development of the province. The project is about 11.43km long, starting at the intersection with Component 1 at Km16+000; ending at the intersection with Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway at about Km98+950 (about 1.8km from An Thai Trung intersection). The project has a total investment of 3,856 billion VND, and construction will begin on August 27, 2024. The project implementation period is from 2022-2027.
Currently, the joint venture of contractors is implementing 40 construction projects. For the route section, contractors are constructing service roads, filling sand, installing wicks and filling with load to treat weak soil. For the bridge section, contractors continue to test pile driving, mass pile driving, construct substructures, produce beams, install beams; construct continuous floor beams (treating weak soil with engineering solutions). The construction value completed by mid-July 2025 reached over 37% of the construction value.

To speed up the project progress, recently, the Dong Thap Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board has coordinated with the joint venture of supervision consultants and the joint venture of construction contractors to organize the launching ceremony of the peak emulation campaign to speed up the construction progress of the construction package of the Project Component 2. Accordingly, the parties committed to completing the main items from now until October 10, 2025. Specifically, regarding the road section, strive to complete the embankment and loading of weak soil treatment sections and loading of the entire route before August 25, 2025 (except for locations with land clearance problems). At the same time, mobilize crushed stone aggregate to the construction site to proactively use materials as roadbed loading materials. Regarding the bridge, by October 10, 2025, basically complete all the work of installing girders on the bridge route and commit to complete all the main structures of the bridges by December 31, 2025 (except for locations where construction has not been possible). At the same time, strictly implement current construction regulations, ensure construction quality, progress; ensure traffic safety, labor safety and environmental sanitation. The investor, the joint venture of supervision consultants, the joint venture of contractors are determined to mobilize maximum human resources, material resources, and financial resources to launch a competition to complete all the above items of the bid package to ensure quality, labor safety, and environmental sanitation.
According to the leader of the Dong Thap Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board, in order to ensure the progress and quality of Component 2 Project under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the unit is urgently coordinating with the Region 3 Construction Investment Project Management Board to complete the site clearance work to contribute to ensuring the overall progress of the project. At the same time, closely inspect and manage the construction process of the construction contractor consortium.
