Hanoi People Magazine and its 40-year journey accompanying artists and writers in the capital

On May 8, at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Hanoi, Hanoi People Magazine held a ceremony to celebrate its 40th anniversary and receive the Second Class Labor Medal, with the participation of comrades representing the leaders of Hanoi city, departments, branches, writers, journalists, researchers, close collaborators and generations of cadres, reporters and editors of the Magazine.

The magazine Nguoi Hanoi , formerly known as the publication "Creating Hanoi" of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association (now the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association), was published in 1967. On May 8, 1985, according to Decision No. 1322/TCCQ of the Hanoi People's Committee, the newspaper was officially named Nguoi Hanoi , becoming the mouthpiece of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association.

Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Vuong Minh Hue - Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Ha Noi Magazine was moved to share: Choosing the name Nguoi Ha Noi , writer To Hoai - the first Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper had many expectations: how to bring out through each page of the newspaper, each sentence, the image of elegant, intelligent, and humane Hanoians in a realistic and vivid way; how to preserve and shine the culture of Hanoi.

From the passionate expectation of the first captain, a persistent will was forged, an inspiration was spread, igniting the fire in passionate hearts, ready to devote themselves to the love of Hanoi... creating the premise for the harmony of Hanoi People to resonate to this day.

Following the writer To Hoai - the "big tree" of Vietnamese literature, the newspaper continues to be led by prestigious artists and journalists such as: Bang Viet, Phan Thi Thanh Nhan, Vu Quan Phuong, Nguyen Anh Bien, Ho Xuan Son, Be Kien Quoc, Vu Xuan Hoat, Dao Xuan Hung, Vuong Minh Hue.

Together with a dedicated leadership team, the valuable collaboration of many famous artists such as poet Te Hanh, poet Hoang Cam, poet Vu Cao, poet Nguyen Dinh Thi, musician Van Cao, painter Bui Xuan Phai, painter Nguyen Sang, painter Mai Van Hien, Professor Tran Quoc Vuong... has contributed to creating a mark for the newspaper, gradually affirming its position as a prestigious literary and artistic forum of the Capital.

From 2021, implementing the national press planning policy, Nguoi Ha Noi Newspaper will change its operating model to Nguoi Ha Noi Magazine. This is a major turning point in the development of the capital's literary and artistic publications.

Although this transformation poses many difficulties in terms of organization, content and approach to readers, the Magazine remains steadfast in its goal of maintaining the cultural and artistic identity of the Capital, while expanding its influence in modern journalism.

Attending the ceremony, comrade Le Hong Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, commented: As the mouthpiece of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association, where thousands of outstanding artists from the capital and the whole country gather, Nguoi Hanoi Magazine has affirmed its position as a prestigious literary and artistic forum of the capital, attracting many famous writers at home and abroad; at the same time, it is a bridge between the creative team and the public, between creative thinking and theoretical orientation, between traditional values ​​and modern life.

Not only vividly reflecting the multi-dimensional cultural and artistic life of the capital, Hanoi People Magazine also performs well the task of propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and the city's political tasks, contributing to bringing the resolution into life and creating consensus in society.

In addition to the monthly printed magazine, Nguoi Ha Noi Magazine also develops strongly on the electronic platform at http://www.nguoihanoi.vn, integrating modern forms of communication such as: video, e-magazine, podcast, infographic... to reach closer to young readers and international readers. The editorial office is gradually implementing digital transformation, building a "converged editorial office" model in line with the development trend of modern journalism.

In particular, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of its founding, Hanoi People were honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal from the State.
