Training on environmental protection, building green, clean and beautiful medical facilities

The first training course was held at Lam Dong General Hospital.

The first training course was held on June 24-25 at Lam Dong General Hospital for staff from the Da Lat, Lac Duong, Don Duong, Duc Trong, Lam Ha and Dam Rong Regional Medical Centers.

The second training course will be held on July 3-4 at Lam Dong II Hospital for staff of Bao Loc, Di Linh, Bao Lam, and Da Huoai Regional Medical Centers.

Attending the 2 training courses were 170 people who were Heads of Nursing Departments, Head Nurses of Regional Medical Centers; Heads of Infection Control Departments or officers in charge of environmental protection, infection control, waste treatment, and construction of green and clean medical facilities at Regional Medical Centers; officers in charge of environmental protection, infection control, waste treatment, and construction of green and clean medical facilities at Regional General Clinics; Heads of Health Stations or officers in charge of environmental protection, infection control, waste treatment, and construction of green and clean medical facilities at health stations throughout the province.

Master Tran Ngoc Trung - Deputy Head of Medical Affairs Department, Lam Dong Department of Health delivered the opening speech of the training course.

Master Tran Ngoc Trung - Deputy Head of Medical Affairs Department of Lam Dong Department of Health said: The purpose of the training courses is to update knowledge on environmental protection, waste treatment and infection control for medical staff performing environmental protection, infection control, medical waste treatment, building green, clean and beautiful medical facilities at medical facilities throughout the province. Improve the quality of environmental protection, waste treatment, infection control and patient safety for medical staff at the grassroots level.

The training content is based on 3 topics. The topic of environmental protection and medical waste treatment at medical examination and treatment facilities includes the following contents: Waste management within the premises of medical facilities according to the provisions of Circular No. 20/2021/TT-BYT dated November 26, 2021 of the Ministry of Health; implementing Decision No. 5959/QD-BYTT dated December 31, 2021 of the Minister of Health promulgating the set of criteria for green - clean - beautiful medical facilities, scoring and reporting methods.

The topic of infection control and patient safety includes the following contents: Circular No. 16/2018/TT-BYT dated July 20, 2018 of the Ministry of Health regulating infection control in medical examination and treatment facilities; overview of infection control; transmission routes and preventive measures; departmental hygiene procedures; visit to the Infection Control Department of Lam Dong Provincial General Hospital and Lam Dong II Hospital; disinfection - sterilization - instructions for preserving medical instruments. Procedures and instructions for using wet and dry steamers at medical stations and regional general clinics; overview of patient safety; building a medical incident reporting system; safety in drug use.

Topic of developing a set of quality indicators for waste treatment and infection control: Overview of quality indicators; guidance on developing a quality indicator outline.

The training courses aim to implement the plan of Lam Dong Department of Health on environmental protection and medical waste treatment in 2025. Improve the quality of environmental protection, waste treatment and infection control according to regulations of the Ministry of Health.
