At the meeting, the leaders of Gia Lai General Hospital reported on the implementation of upgrading and renovating blocks B and C of the Hospital. Accordingly, the project to upgrade and renovate blocks B and C of the Hospital was approved by the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 712/QD-UBND, dated November 15, 2024. On July 14, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee transferred the Project Investor from the Department of Health to the Gia Lai Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board in Official Dispatch No. 416/UBND-KGVX.
To implement the Project, the Hospital proposed a plan to hand over the premises in accordance with the professional operation situation of the Hospital. Accordingly, for the upgrading and renovation of Area B: Including the Examination Department, the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology, Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Pathology, Endoscopy, the Artificial Kidney Unit, the server room and the Department of Anesthesia and Resuscitation. The Hospital's leaders proposed that the handover of the repair premises will be carried out in a rolling manner, handing over each room under each department in turn.

For the upgrading and renovation of Area C, including the following departments: Obstetrics, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine; Obstetrics and Gynecology Treatment Area, Oncology Department, Spinal Neurosurgery Department, General Surgery - Post-operative Department, Intensive Care and Anti-Poisoning Department, Orthopedic Trauma Surgery - Burns Department, Neurosurgery - Craniocerebral Surgery Department; General Surgery - Pre-operative Department. The hospital proposes to temporarily relocate to less used departments or take advantage of the existing area, ensuring uninterrupted patient care.
At the same time, the Hospital proposed that the Provincial People's Committee support about 2 billion VND to repair the departments: Dentistry - Maxillofacial, Tropical Diseases - Traditional Medicine - Dermatology, and Pharmacy (old), to serve the relocation of patients during the implementation of the Project to upgrade and renovate block B and block C.

At the meeting, delegates heard reports on the implementation of investment projects and medical equipment procurement of Gia Lai General Hospital in the past time, the planned plan for 2026 and the period 2026-2030. At the same time, the meeting focused on discussing and proposing solutions related to financial autonomy and proposed adjustments to the level of autonomy of the Hospital. In addition, the contents of the planning for the construction of the Hospital in the coming time were also presented, with the orientation of large-scale infrastructure investment, including a number of key items such as: building a new 7-storey operating room - resuscitation block, Oncology - Nuclear Medicine Center, Tropical Disease Center, Cardiovascular Center, etc.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Department of Health and the Board of Directors of Gia Lai General Hospital in overcoming difficulties and performing tasks in the past time.
Regarding the project to renovate areas B and C, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Project Management Board to closely coordinate with Gia Lai General Hospital to develop a specific plan for the implementation roadmap, to ensure that the project implementation process does not affect the examination and treatment work as well as the treatment and hospitalization of patients. The Hospital Board of Directors is responsible for developing a suitable organizational plan to maintain the stable operation of related departments in areas B and C. During the implementation process, if any difficulties or problems arise, they must be promptly reported to the Department of Health for coordination and handling. At the same time, the contractor is required to propose specific solutions, mobilize maximum human and material resources, to ensure construction progress and investment efficiency.
Regarding urgent investment projects for Gia Lai General Hospital, in order to meet the criteria of a grade I provincial hospital, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant units to carefully calculate feasibility, priority order and implementation capacity, while ensuring infrastructure synchronization.
The Vice Chairman noted that the restructuring of the Hospital's operations should be integrated with the development of the Gia Lai Province Health Sector Development Project to 2030, with a vision to 2050. The Department of Health was assigned to review the whole project to develop a new project suitable to the actual situation.
In addition, it is recommended that the health sector calculate and supplement solutions to effectively use the existing human resources; at the same time, promote the connection between public hospitals and private medical facilities, as well as with upper-level hospitals, to maximize resources and improve the quality of medical services.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee shared the difficulties and obstacles that the health sector and Gia Lai General Hospital are facing, and at the same time requested departments and branches to continue to actively support the health sector. The key goal is to ensure that people in Gia Lai province, especially in the western region of the province, have access to high-quality, safe and timely health services, contributing to improving the quality of health care for the people.
