The six sporting events seem to represent only a modest portion of the massive amount of work that the Lao Dong Newspaper has embarked on over the years, behind the professional activities. However, according to the general assessment, the sports sector can absolutely continue to explode in the coming time, creating more "stages" for the "amateur" but enthusiastic organizers of the Lao Dong Newspaper.
Community Oriented
In March 2023, the Editorial Board of the Lao Dong Newspaper proposed the idea of mobilizing local resources, coordinating with related units, and successfully organizing a golf tournament to create additional funding for the two programs "Proud of the National Flag" and "Scholarships to support ethnic minority and poor students".
After several months of active preparation, a plan to coordinate with Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank to organize a meaningful community-oriented sports activity was formed. And, the first "I love Vietnam" Golf Tournament was launched in early September 2023.
One of the most important issues of any sporting event is the participating force. Having never organized any sporting event before, but with many years of experience in implementing programs and activities behind the scenes, the relevant departments spread out in many directions, starting to prepare for the first "I love Vietnam" Golf Tournament.

Everyone was busy designing posters and flyers to send to groups, family golf clubs, golf tourism organizations; proactively scheduling meetings and working with golf courses to ask for sharing, support as well as inviting members to participate... Then the tournament was introduced with high frequency on the media channels and social networks of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper. The members of the Editorial Board also took advantage of all personal relationships with friends, colleagues, and partners to introduce and promote the tournament.
144 golfers - the ideal round number for a large-scale event - participated in the first "I Love Vietnam" Golf Tournament in September 2023. Going beyond the professional significance of the tournament with many impressive performances and convincing rankings of the golfers, the Organizing Committee auctioned valuable items, along with support from the golfers to collect 800 million VND to contribute to the above 2 programs.
Up to now, after 3 times of organization, the "I love Vietnam" Golf Tournament has made many impressions. More than 1 billion VND has been contributed to the programs "Proud of the National Flag" and "Scholarships to support ethnic minority and poor students", later the program "Scholarship of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper" was re-launched.
Many golfers could not hold back their emotions. Because the humanistic meaning of the "I Love Vietnam" Golf Tournament made them feel like they were truly members of a community that was willing to sympathize and share with those in unfortunate situations; as well as through that, they understood and loved their homeland and country more.
"Roll up your sleeves and get to work"
In addition to the "I Love Vietnam" Golf Tournament, over the past two years, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has also focused on organizing the "Proud of My Fatherland" Half-marathon Tournament with a scale ranging from 2,000 - 3,000 participants each season.
Just the survey, search and organization of the running race on a peaceful and quiet route is an important achievement of the amateur organizers at Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper. Not to mention, the "Pride of My Fatherland" Race also helps the participating athletes have unforgettable experiences when visiting and admiring the cultural and historical relics in Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City in the past.
Among many large-scale races that have created a brand name nationwide, what does a young half-marathon like "Proud of My Fatherland" do to have its own runner force? A question that is not easy to answer without "rolling up your sleeves and getting to work" - as the team of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper said.
We went to running groups with hundreds, thousands of members, chatted and shared ideas, hoping they would join us. So "Proud of My Fatherland" had dozens, hundreds more registrations. Do famous faces in the sports world intend to experience running? Do showbiz stars need to exercise by putting on their shoes and running every morning? Are influential figures on social networks; teachers, even high school students... excited about half-marathons? We contacted them all and many people agreed to join the race.
Once we had mobilized a large number of runners, we continued to look for partners and supporters to generate revenue for all preparation activities of the tournament, because each item required a large amount of money. Difficult but not impossible, the source of sponsorship, items for athletes... was increasingly "thick" and on the opening day of the "Proud of My Fatherland" Half-marathon, everyone was satisfied with the careful preparation of the Organizing Committee.

The presence of former national athletes Le Tu Chinh, Khuat Phuong Anh or veteran runners Doan Thi Hien, Le Thi Ha, Nguyen Thi Thuong, Le Huu Loc, along with supermodel Binh Minh, actress Diep Bao Ngoc, bodybuilder Pham Van Mach, winter sports athlete Susan Tran, track and field athlete Pham Khanh Ly, singer ST Son Thach, actor Vo Minh Lam, rapper Dinh Tien Dat... has contributed to widely promoting the image of a cross-country race in the heart of the city, peaceful, gentle and serene but no less competitive.
Catch the "hot trend"
Although it has not been introduced to Vietnam for long, pickleball has quickly been welcomed by many sports enthusiasts. Regardless of gender, age or social status, pickleball is easily accepted because it is easy to play, has easy-to-understand rules and regulations, and is not too strict.
Pickleball is also recognized by many as a sport with strong connections, from family members to friends and colleagues, besides its main role of supporting daily life through training and competition, improving health.
Grasping this "hot trend" in social life, in May 2025, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper decided to organize a pickleball playground to promote the development of a sport that is loved by the public. Not all members of the Organizing Committee of the 1st Pickleball Tournament of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper - 2025 can play pickleball, but the enthusiasm for this type of sport helped everyone overcome all obstacles to successfully organize the first tournament.

The first Pickleball Tournament of the Lao Dong Newspaper took place as an activity to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and the Organizing Committee received exactly 100 pairs of registrations to compete.
The 2025 Pickleball Tournament of the Lao Dong Newspaper has come to a successful end. The praise for the first edition is enough to motivate the Lao Dong Newspaper to be more confident in thinking about expanding this playground in the following seasons.
