A rural water supply project

Up to now, Tay Ninh province has a total of 1,204 centralized rural water supply works. Of which, Long An area (before the merger) has 1,125 works, with 82.68% of rural households using clean water; Tay Ninh area (before the merger) has 79 works, with 72% of households using clean water.

In order to meet the increasing demand for clean water of rural people, Tay Ninh province sets out the orientation for developing the rural water supply system in the coming time towards stability, sustainability and adaptation to climate change.

Specifically, the province will continue to operate existing water supply systems according to a combined model of centralized and decentralized water supply, exploiting surface water from Dau Tieng Lake. For the northern region, where surface water resources are difficult, priority will be given to exploiting a combination of surface water and groundwater.

Tay Ninh will implement the rural water supply public investment plan for the 2026-2030 period, prioritizing the construction of large-scale, inter-commune projects, gradually replacing small, inefficient projects with poor water quality. At the same time, the province will actively mobilize support resources from domestic and foreign organizations to gradually complete the rural water supply system, moving towards the goal of safe water supply.

At the same time, the province will invest in building water supply works to prevent and combat drought and saltwater intrusion after receiving funding support from the Central Government. In addition, research and application of new technologies in water treatment such as technology to filter saltwater and brackish water into fresh water; collect, treat and store rainwater to ensure quality; treat household water with simple and effective operating equipment. In particular, the exploitation of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, wave, etc. in clean water production and treatment of wastewater and livestock waste will also be promoted.

In addition, the province will review and upgrade equipment and pipelines, improve the operational efficiency of existing water plants to meet water demand during the dry season and drought-salt season; at the same time, implement measures to regulate water resources, ensuring sufficient minimum domestic water for people in rural areas.

With clear orientations, Tay Ninh province is gradually realizing the goal of increasing the proportion of rural people using clean water, aiming to build a safe, adaptive and sustainable rural water supply system./.
