Taylor Swift has once again proven her power at the awards show. The singer recently dominated the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), beating out all of her competition in the categories she was nominated for. The special awards night celebrated Latin music and hip-hop, but Taylor Swift still came out on top.

The singer, who is currently on her Eras Tour, took home the night's biggest award, Video of the Year, for her song "Anti-Hero" from her album "Midnights." She also won Best Direction, Best Pop Video, and Song of the Year.

In addition to showcasing her artistic talent, Taylor Swift also received special support from her peers. The members of the band "NSync" reunited after more than a decade to present her with the award. Video editor Chancler Hanes and cinematographer Rina Yang spoke on behalf of the singer to announce her win for "Video of the Year".

The night also saw the rise of hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj, who served as the sole host of the VMAs. She won the award for "Best Hip-Hop" for her song "Super Freaky," and in her acceptance speech, she paid tribute to her music career.

Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj weren't the only stars. The night also celebrated 50 years of hip-hop with special performances from a host of notable artists including Lil Wayne, Metro Boomin, Doug E Fresh, Grandmaster Flash, LL Cool J and more.

The 2023 VMAs also celebrated Latin music, with artists like Anitta, Peso Pluma and Karol G taking home major awards. Karol G won the "Best Collaboration" award with Shakira, who was the night's honoree. Shakira was also awarded the "Video Pioneer" award for her significant contribution to global music.

Finally, Mary J Blige presented the global icon award to Diddy, real name Sean Combs, to honor his success and contributions to the music industry. Combs was grateful and shared his feelings about his journey from a paperboy to one of the top music icons.
