On March 24, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi declared that his country would not resume direct talks with the United States unless Washington adjusted its policy toward Tehran.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a Red Cross meeting in Tehran, Foreign Minister Araghchi criticized the "maximum pressure" campaign and repeated threats by the United States against Iran.
Araghchi emphasized that these actions are the reason Tehran cannot return to the negotiating table unless there is a "fundamental change in attitude" from Washington.
Iran's Foreign Minister affirmed that, despite refusing direct negotiations, Tehran remains ready to negotiate indirectly and will convey its message through these channels.
In addition, Mr. Araghchi also addressed the conspiracies against the Islamic Republic and reaffirmed that "there will be no war" because the country is ready for any possible scenario.
Earlier, on March 23, Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), said Tehran was ready to restore its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) if the parties involved did not ignore its interests.
The countries participating in the JCPOA committed to lifting sanctions against Tehran on the condition that the country restrict its nuclear program. However, the JCPOA has faced numerous obstacles since the US withdrew from the agreement in 2018 under President Donald Trump and reimposed sanctions. Tehran subsequently eased its commitments to the agreement, but still maintains that its nuclear activities are for peaceful purposes.
